Well..here is the solution for that problem and now be happy coz although you cant call them..They can surely call you.
It took me some time to figure out this voipcheap hack...So please read it carefully before you try your hands at it.
Lets see how this voipcheap hack will work
What happens When you register for VOIPcheap?
Voipcheap will track your IP address at the time of registration. for e.g you are registering from USA or UK, the Id will enable you to make FREE calls since these countries fall under the FREE calls Beta version promotion by Voipcheap.
What if I am registering from India?
Voipcheap will trace your IP to india and blocks all outgoing FREE calls. You can however make one call, i heard different reports from people. One of my brother was able to make 30 calls within India. You better check it on your own. It might be possible that they have restricted FREE calls to 30 for non-FREE destinations like India.
Whats the hack?
The hack is to register from a proxy which belongs to the FREE destinations country. Voipcheap will trace your IP to the foreign country and will let you call FREE to these destinations for unlimited time.
Now you can ask your parents/Bro in India to set this up and make calls FREE.

dude i downloaded the s/w via a proxy website http://www.surfonsteroids.com
but when i tried to register a new login id i had some problems with it :)
i tried to use the similar trick in "Jajah Website" and could successfully make calls to my sis in India for abt 20 minutes flat
I stay in US.. I registered at voipcheap and gave the userid and password to my parents in india. But after a few minutes, it said that I had exhausted the limit of free trial calls.

I have already explained and asked everyone to read it very carefilly. To make sure this hack workds, you have to use a proxy. The software will otherwise know from which country you are dialing from. So they need to use a proxy of USA, Singapore etc. basically countries which are under FREE list.
I have also got updates that the new version has issues with it. People who registered with older version are still able to make FREE calls.
I will download the newer version now and test the hack or else will find another workaround for it.

I have been trying something like this with Skype (created a VPN) but no success. I will try using proxy and VoipCheap but my question had anyone tried setting up SIP phone. As I see the settings there is separate proxy "sip.voipcheap.com " to be used for SIP phone, it will not use IE proxy setting...any idea??

you can use any, as long as the proxy works OK. Some proxy dont run 24/7, and sometime they are down. You can try pinging the proxy to check if you can connect.
High anonymous are better but sometimes they have issues with internet surfing. So it's all about finding a good proxy (very easy) and registering.

I have IE n Firefox. Im living in India n i have changed my ip n applied it of US. when i open my Firefox google site, it opens google india but in IE the google site is different. So is it means that i got working US IP? n im successful as u have told to change IP?

First of all let me clarify..This hack is for people calling from India and not for people calling to India. Since india doesnt allow free termination of PSTN calls and BSNL/MTNL charges for a connect charge which is in turn passed on to you. So if you register with a USA proxy you will be pretending that you are from USA then you can call usa & many other countries free which is otherwise not possible.
if you are getting india, your proxy isnt working right. Maybe ur ISP is bypassing your proxy settings. how did you set it up?

it seems that your ISP is bypassing proxy connections..since even after changing so many IP you get google india. Thats only possible when your proxy settings are filtered by ISP.

How to sign up for account with voicheap using proxy? Account can only be created through the voipcheap application. If i specify proxy in internet explorer then only browser will go through proxy and not data from voipcheap proxy
no the data will also pass through the proxy if you set it up properly. some ISP however bypass proxy settings especially in India, the local cable operators use a proxy so they bypass all proxy settings you used. That makes it difficult. However try using High anonymous proxies, tend to do well.

did you use gizmocall? try using that...read my article about gizmocall on the blog. Secondly there is a service called callfreetochina. For that you need to call a iowa number in USA, now since your parents are in india , they can use icall to call that number and then dial your number.

If that doesnt work for you, you might be using a private VPN via cable operators or the your ISP is bypassing your proxy settings.

try using a singapore proxy..they typically work better. Use a proxy to register a new id and then use it.. dont try proxy with a old id.

You probably know all this, but here is what I think happens with the new VoipCheap SW:
I use a proxy (tried several which BTW slowed down DL speed tremendously) and I can see that IE indeed goes through the proxy. But Firefox does not. So there must be a way for a clever SW to bypass that config. So when I register as a new user the new VCheap SW knows with or w/o proxy that I am coming from Belgium (I can tell by looking at the Personal Profile, which automatically gives the country). So I do wonder what happens if I reconfigure the TCP/IP settings with the proxy IP. Any ideas?

Most of the local ISP like cable operators in India use PPPOE or private VPN in those cases, your proxy settings will be overridden by their proxy.
however if u r using mtnl, bsnl, sify, airtel etc you might give it a try and hopefully this hack will work.
If you re-configue TCP/IP settings and using a ISP with DHCP, then you wont be able to use it coz the ISP will ovverride with their IP. If you using a static IP (most cable operators), you wont be able to connect to their gateway.
However if u get successful by this method, let me know. but i dont think you will be.

unfortunately, you are right. Tinkering with the TCP/IP settings will not get you anywhere; the ICP will not accept it and there no longer is online access.
My point was a different one; namely that the new VOIPcheap SW has a way of bypassing the system proxy settings (via Control Panel, Internet Options .... ); just as Firefox has. My ISP (I am from Belgium) does not override these proxy settings, as is proved by the fact that IE clearly goes via the proxy. But Fx as well as VCheap do not. Therefore it seems to me that only an older version of the SW will do. See also my post under the "Reasons to avoid updating" thread

I tried to create an a/c using that software. But it shows an unknown error. I can pick one proxy server and port, but putting it in web browser, is enough..?

is airtel bypassing your proxy? please check and let me know. You can quickly check that by choosing a proxy of any country and visiting google. If google redirects to the local search then the proxy is working

i've been in India for quite time now, used to try icall but recently started using airtel's mobile connection to get into the net.
Do u think the speed of 921Kbps be sufficient to run program like voicecheap(icall never logged me in with this connection).
Besides, i tried all your procedures to hack, but didn't worked for me, do i need to configure each of my connections under dial-up &VPN settings or only under LAN settings.
voicecheap also didn't registered me(if u hav couple of ids let me 1, i'm in dire need)

well my name is vinay and not avinash. However there are multiple ways to call UK or Pakistan. You can call UK landline via Voipcheap, Voip buster, voip discount, lowratevoip etc. You can use my hack to make it work for you.
Alternative you can use gizmocall. if you hubby has a fixed rate plan in UK which gives him cross-network free minutes there are many providers who allow making free calls from UK to pakitan. Ask him to check that out. Hope it helps

I have downloaded the Voipcheap along with the proxyway pro. I have install the proxway and its configure from IE to route from different country. So, here is my questions now.
1. How do I configure the voipcheap to route through proxy? I think its going through my LAN.
2. Would it be much simple if someone registers Voipcheap from India? Than will I be allowed to make calls from USA?
I think step by step instruction would help..
to use the proxy, you should be having a ADSL or cable connection. Cable means a direct cable connection via router or cable modem and not a PPPoE connection. PPPoE will typically filter all proxy traffic.
You can ask someone in India to set it up. But if you are in USA, i would suggest you ask them to use iCall. They allow unlimited talktime to USA & Canada.

In your post you mentioned calling from PSTN / Mobile lines of India to any phone listed in the "FREE" calling countries on VOIPcheap. With this hack, would the users of VOIPcheap in India be able to use there PSTN / Mobile phones? If yes, how? If I put any number starting with 0091 as either of the number (caller's number in case of "directcall") it doesn't dial it - tried it both from India and US. Or would they just be able to talk through microphone attached to the computer?

i guess you got it wrong. You cant use directcall feature from india coz the whole idea of the hack is to trick voipcheap that you are not from india. you cant india but you can call from india. i hope i clarified it better this time?

PPPoE typically filters all proxy settings, thats the reason you cant set a proxy. I suggest you can try tor.eff.org, anonymous proxy.
icall takes a lot of time. I heard these reports from others in india. here in singapore, it connects within 30 secs. I have no clue. Maybe your ISP is blocking some ports used by icall?

hi, with VOIPCHEAP, can we talk for 1 hour long? coz they disconnect the line after some time stating that your free minutes are over. so is there any bypass for that?. currently i keep on making multiple IDs to talk, and if phone cuts in between it is quite embarassing.

if you want to call usa, why dont you try icall or mediaring. since voipcheap isnt working for you through proxy, its better you do that

icall works perfectly alright for me. Mediaringtalk, has a limit of calls to be made for free within a day.
Always remember, its advisable not to abuse the system by making unlimited calls. They have to pay for it we get it free.
If they give us such offer, its our responsibility to ensure that the offer remains for long.
if we become co-operative, am sure more companies will offer such benefits.

you are doing it all wrong. Read that tutorial all over again. Pay attention to each step. gizmo project and gizmo call are products of SIPPhone, a company run by micheal robertson, inventor of mp3.com
The hack says use your gizmo project id for gizmo call login. Not gizmo project login. Is that clear?
The number you are trying to call must be a mobile number in UK. Mediaring is offering only UK landline free calls.
UK number starting with 7 are mobile numbers. Number starting with 844 or 870 are premium numbers, both aren't free and can never be free coz they are premium toll numbers.

did you buy talk time from them? if yes don't try this hack. It might get deducted from your account later. Just a precaution.

Just go to Internet Explorer-Tools-Internet Options-Connections-Lan Settings
The click on proxy serverAdvanced. Input the IP with Port then apply and ok. Restars the browser (not necessary but better)

bashir, you can use gizmocall. since voipcheap wont let you call pakistan for free. however you can call other destinations such as UK, USa, Canada etc

ashi, if voipcheap doesnt work for you. You can use icall. You have to ask your parents to install icall on their pc and then they can call you unlimited times.
if voipcheap has misused your money, please post on their forums. Make a proper case and ask for refund.
currently only gizmocall allow to make free calls to india but lately they have some issues. I have sent them an email and waiting for reply.

Hello Vinay, nice work, really nice work mate.. soem strage problems when i tried setting the proxy in both IE and firefox (tools>options>(general options)>connection setting>(select) manual proxy configuration>set the ip of the proxy you have found and the port then `ok', `ok' relaunch firefox. No when i try to connect to www.google.com with firefox, it takes me to the american google (does not display any search results though).. whereas IE deverts back to www.google.co.in (Pffffft).. but then checking "whatsmyip.org" shows the IP that I have configured as through proxy (shows same for both firefox & ie).. I am stumped.. any feedbancs appreciated.. regards again..

iam dinesh fromg germany..u r really doing a nice work..i had seen ur post for creating account in voicecheap using proxy but iam using VPN internet offered by my university.so if i change my proxy i could not access the internet.for the last two iam not able to create account in any voip application.so is there any idea to do so..help me thank you vinay...
if you use VPN, then its very unlikely that the proxy will work. VPN is managed by your school network. Those settings filter any proxy you are trying to set since your school network must be using a private IP range. Try to download other applications and test which one works.
siddhi, no one offers free calls within india, for the simple reason that its not free for them so they cant offer you free calls within india.
you can use the zip phone in india. I am not very sure if its illegal. However be careful with mtnl or bsnl. i did hear some horror stories about vonage in india.
