This is another must read post, perhaps the best post written in the last 6 month. If you miss this tutorial, you will need to pay for call forwarding services. This tutorial will enable you to make unlimited call forwards to various destinations for FREE. This hack/workaround will work for people calling from India, Pakistan and any other destination as long as you have a PSTN gateway number and SIP service enabled.
We will try to make this guide as extensive and clear as we can. I hope you understand the steps and do not miss any. Please read the steps carefully, if you miss any of the step the hack won't work.
This hack will work with any provider including tpad (with PSTN numbers). I will first explain how you setup the free call forwarding facility and then we will see how people can call you.
Lets start with the tutorial. This tutorial has multiple sections. I want you to understand how the whole things works, since it will be easier for you to mix and match these parts to create a different solution from this.
First Section- Defining a Forward Facility with PhoneGnome.
- Register your CellPhone/HomePhone with PhoneGnome
- When logged into their website (PhoneGnome) go under the features tab and activate Remote Access. Edit the settings to Ring SoftGnome with Home Phone:Active by ticking the box. Now save.
- On the same screen, Click View Sip Settings to see Sip Username, Password, and Sip proxy. Store it somewhere or keep this window open.
Second Section- Setting up SIP Gateway
Note: We are not considering voxalot for this exercise since voxalot will be a paid service from July 16. We will be using gtalk2voip to replace voxalot.
1. logon to your Google talk messenger (Download Google talk if you don't have it already). Add service@gtalk2voip.com in your buddy list.
2. open the chat window with service@gtalk2voip.com (You can register with Gtalk2voip and ask for invitation) and type HELP in that chat window & it will give you the list of text command which u can use, and at the last of this list it will give u Your personal account page URL .
3. Go to your personal account page and click on Define your own SIP providers and click on Add to define your SIP provider.
4.
Host = sip.tpad.com
Port = 5060
Your User Name = your tpad username
Your Password = your tpad password
Techprefix : +
select Reg. to SIP and Enable option and save ur information
5. Now click on "Define your dialing plan ".
Note: If you already have Phonegnome added as provider then no need at add it again. go to step 6.
Add Phonegnome as your provider with PhoneGnome SIP settings.
Username : (ur phonegnome username ex. soft12345678)
password : (ur phonegnome password)
Host: pgp01.televolution.net
Port : 5060
Techprefix : +
select Reg. to SIP and Enable option and save ur information.
6.Now click on "Define your Follow-Me number or SIP URI" and in Follow-Me phone number or SIP URI: type your complete phone no. with + countrycode which u have given in phonegnome account. ( ex. +4921712345678 where +49 is country code for germany).
7.After some time in your SIP provider list, the status of your sip provider status should be Registered, if not so logoff from your gtalk, and login after few sec.
Now your VOIP Gateway is Setup.
Section 3: How can someone call you?
There are two ways to call you, either via PC (tpad to tpad is FREE) or via PSTN. PSTN will be most popular method to call, so lets consider this in our example.
Consider that your brother in Mumbai wants to call you in Germany. Lets see how he can do it.
1) He will have to call Tpad's PSTN Gateway number(Gateway numbers are available in many countries, check the list), For Mumbai: 0 2228665454
2) They will hear an automated message "Thank You for calling, please enter
the number you wish to call" <--------- (Tpad is going to change this
message and make multilingual soon)
3. They then dial YOUR personal 7 digit Tpad Number e.g 1124139 and it will
take 5 - 10 secs to connect (depending on number).
4. Now this call is converted from PSTN into SIP will terminate first at Tpad SIP Server, however since we have forwarded your Tpad account to your phone via phonegnome, you phone will ring.
5. Now make Free calls unlimited times with this FREE forwarding method.
This will save your money on forwarding your call to your phone. The only cost is local call rate to connect to PSTN gateway which is Rs.1.
This workaround/Hack can be used across providers who provide PSTN gateway numbers or for that matter any provider offering SIP service.
Please let us know any specific provider whom you want to hook up on this free forwarding setup and we will try to provide you with a tutorial.
I would like to thank Yogesh (Germany) & Vishnu (Ireland) for their help in achieving this solution. Yogesh has worked with me for hours to figure this out before we knew vishnu already did it :-). We have now formed a new team me, Yogesh and Vishnu who will be working to find new exciting free solutions.
Please post your comments, questions and success stories. This hack will rock the VOIP industry!

Hai Vinay,
I don't get what is new in this post from your last posts on the same topic?
Will it work for calling to India? Anything new for calling from UAE to India as you know most of voip including Tpad is blocked in UAE
Waiting for your innovations. I know you can do something on this.
Hi Vinay,
This post is bit confusing.
1) We are adding tpad sip details, but selecting phonegnome in dial plan
2) tpad to tpad calls are supposed to be free. The call forwarding feature provided by tpad will cost 1 rupee, while the current solution proposed by you also does the same.
3) Could u just give a brief description of how it works with a block diagram, also plz explain the role of each service u use.
Thanks
Priyan
Priyan,
Call forwarding with Tpad is not free. There are charges per second based on your forwarded destination.
Does that make sense now?
Vinyay,
Appreciate ur priceless effort. But, dont feel that we been bugging u. As priyan Said, Certain points are confusing.
In the second section, 4th points, u r telling us to Add TPAD sip details and in the 6th point, u r telling us select Gnome Details. i think u missed out something over there. could u plz clarify it so that i can try it out now. once again thanks yaar for effort.
Jeeva S
Here is good news for barablu users. Now if ur friends r using barablu on their mobile or pc and u have free account on phonegnome, then they can can call you directly on your phone from barablu. u need not to install barablu on your pc or mobile. In othere words u can save your money for data access (internet) from your mobile.
The whole setup is same as tpad account, only difference is instead of tapd, you have to give barablu account details in step 4. Rest all the setup is same.
Host = gw.barablu.com
Port = 5060
Your User Name = your barablu username
Your Password = your barablu password
Techprefix : +
Select both Reg. to SIP and Enable option and save ur information.
Rest all the setup is same as Tpad account setup.
Hi voip team...
This sounds great but do you guys know a service that does FREE forwarding from SIP to ITALY PSTN MOBILE?
Because the problem I have now is that there are no solutions to call Italy mobile phone FOR FREE (regardless if its from PC OR NORMAL PHONE)
If you guys can find a FREE solution to call ITALY mobile I WILL BE SOOOOOOOOOO GREATFUL!!!
Thanks so much!
Jeeva & Priyan the steps to reg tpad r correct. i will explain u in short, how exactly this whole thing work.
We are using Phonegnome to fwd ur calls on your phone with the help sip provider. when some one calls you on your tpad no. from any PSTN gateway, that request go to gtalk2voip sip provider, because when u r not loged on your tpad account via tpad messenger at that time gtalk2voip server is login with ur details, so ur calls goes to gtalk2voip server, then this gtalk2voip server fwd your call to ur phone with your phonegnome dialing plan, as phonegnome is giving free service for fwd your call on your phone, u do not have to pay anything for that.
hope this will clear your doubt. if u still have any doubt, please feel free to ask.
I will request all readers to findout similar service like phonegnome so that we can findout some solution for those reader who r not able to use phonegnome free.
jaronliu at present phonegnome gives free fwd to italy landline phones only.If u reg. your self with any landline phone then u can receive free call on that landline.
enjoy free calling....
Any information
how the calls can be made from Serbia,Croatia and Bosnia?
They are not listed on free countries.
Thank you
M.P.
Dear Vinay,
is it any way to call Croatia,Serbia and Bosnia, from USA for free?
Thank you
Thanks for the post, but I am a bit confused, where is the link between tpad and phonegnome. I mean between point 4 and 6, you are not mentioning where to use the phonegnome proxy information
THIS METHOD IS FLAWED FOR SO MANY REASONS. Let me take you through them:
1) You say add tpad in step 4 (sip details) and then you ask us to select phonegnome (dial plan) in step 6. That is a contradiction.
2) When you define your follow me number, you put in the direct home/mobile number, when it should obviously be an SIP number, else gtalk2voip will charge you.
3) Nowhere have you forwarded the calls coming on tpad account to the gtalk2voip. Note that in order to do that, you need to make some changes on TPad account. That has not been done.
SO, in conclusion, as we can see, this method is flawed and will not work for more reasons then one.
Please read your posts and try following it step by step to see if it even works.
As per step 4, i entered this information in sip provider list.
Host = sip.tpad.com
Port = 5060
Your User Name = your tpad username
Your Password = your tpad password
Techprefix : +
select Reg. to SIP and Enable option and save ur information
As per step 6...i see XXXXXXX@sip.tpad.com in my dailing plan dropdownlist. As per blog, i need to enter my Phonegnome settings here...
Is Vinay missing something here ???
ok, i tried and it works!!
There is nothing about tpad here. Basically it just replaced voxalot with gtalk2voip. Thus, when defing SIP Provider, just use "pgp01.televolution.net" and that's it.
Hi Vinay/Yogesh,
I am also bit confused. We have usernames say 1234567 for tpad and soft-87654321 and their respective hosts are sip.tpad.com and pgp01.televolution.net. Now when I go to gtalk2voip I can definitely register two personal sip providers and also add any/both of them in my dialing plan. but when someone calls on the tpad number in india its not forwarding them by phonegnome to the cell number provided as follwo me number. Please try to explain precisely about the gtalk2voip part with how the call connects from tpad to our cell no and what's the use of gtalk2voip in it. I am writing first time in the blog as I recently started reading it and found it very intersting. I hv read all the previous solutions and they have worked fine except this one.. Thanks for your good work..expecting your reply...
Hi Vinay,
I also don't understand the switch between tpad to phonegnome.
Can you write seperate instructions for tpad and seperate for Phonegnome
Hi Yogesh,Vinay,
This facility is too Good.
I have Nokia N95 Mobile and configured SIP for tpad. SO now I am able to get calls directly to my Mobile.
Is TPAd Service is Leagal in India?
TRAI will support this?
Cheers,
UK Caller
Thanks for the post. But it is a bit confusing. In point 4 you are telling that setup Tpad and in Point 6) you say select the phonegnome account. Are some points missing? Can you please elaborate a bit
Hi Viany,
I have tried it. I am in UAE.
I call the tpad access no. then enter my tpad 7 digit no.
Then it starts ringing but i don't get the ring on my phone. And then after 10 sec the call just disconnects.
and my call forward number is also a no. in UAE.
So what went wrong.
Great work guys however I feel some steps are missing. Here are my suggestions
a) Step 1 should be create a tpad account.
b) There is missing step or instruction in 3 or 4. You should mention to enter details for phonegnome sip setting. Then only soft-12345678@pgp01.televolution.net will appear in the add provider list. This raises a question you have to enter details for both sip providers i.e. tpad and phonegnome?
Also question. do you have to be logged in google chat for callforwarding to work?
Thanks
My bad. It seems i did screw up at one of the steps. This is what happens when i do things in a hurry.
I did these settings in voxalot and it worked perfectly ok. Then while writing the guide i realised that voxalot is going to be paid and it makes no sense to use them. So in a hurry i tried replicating the same for gtalk2voip. My bad, i didnt set it up to test since I was in a hurry, had some appointment.
Guys, hang in there and i will fix this today. Hopefully will get some time in afternoon.
Thanks for your co-operation.
Guys i have updated the part which was confusing. Extremely sorry for that.
Hi All, The workaround shall work fine as mentioned by Vinay. But if can't get your calls completed check following:
1. Make sure to log out from your google talk and gtalk accounts, and log in back after a few minutes.
2. In the Sip providers details (in gtalk account), please check if the system is showing your tpad sip details as registered.
3. You have correctly entered your phonegnome details, as this is where you call forward takes place.
4. If still you can not get through chceck your session report in gtalk to confirm if the calls are being diverted or not..
5.If you get some errore like "call ended by client.." or Erro..client not found etc.." please make sure your forwarding numbers are correct and you have chosed the correct sip provider (phonegnome) for call forwards.
6. If you still calls are not connected, leave this setup for about 24 hrs, as sometimes sip registartions are not done immediately.
Hope this shall work now. Still if any error please be specific what error you get and we may try to solve these.
Best wishes.
As vinay said, he has updated the procedure, hope this will help you to setup everything properly.if u still facing any problem please let us know about it.i will request all readers to write their comments and success story so that our team will be able to help you in more efficient way.
Here r few more tips for the users.
many of u must be facing problem to install so many messenger on your pc and have to logon to every messenger because all of your friends are using different messengers. With the help of Gtalk2voip gateway u can add all your accounts on their server and can receive calls on your Gtalk or Phone.
If you have reg your accounts of different messengers( ex Tpad, barablu etc), on gtalk2voip, under "Define your own SIP providers" then you can receive calls on your gtalk as well as on your phone with the help of phonegnome service. So you can add as many account of different IM u want in gtalk2voip in Define your own SIP providers option, and enjoy free calling and receiving on your phone.
If you r online on Gtalk and someone calls you on ur any of Your ID which u have reg on gtalk2voip, 1st your gtalk will ring for 20 sec and if u do not receive call on gatlk it will be fwd to your phone. If you r not online on gtalk then your call will be fwd to your phone directly.
Those users who r not able to enjoy free call fwd to their phone with phonegnome they can set their account on gtalk2voip to get calls on your Gtalk messenger.
I will request all readers to let us know about various account u r able to setup in gtalk2voip in Define your own SIP providers othere than, tpad, barablu account.
If you r facing some problem with reg. of your account on gtalk2voip, and with status please let us know or u can post your issue on gtalk2voip.com forum.
Thanks for Your support and feedback.
Have Fun and enjoy Free calling...
Hi Vinay & Team,
Appreciate your great hard work and helping our big community to save lot of money.
I managed to receive a call from india and happily spoked with them for more than 30 mins. I registered with TPAD and the same registered with my LinkSys 3102 ATA.
Now, I can receive calls from India, US etc (where the TPAD's Break-In service available) to my ATA.
Thanks again for your solution.
Thanks ramesh. I am really happy for you. Now enjoy free calls from India.
Hi Vinay,
As you mentioned now I created both tpad and phonnegnome sips to gtalk2voip. I am in US and tried calling from a US tpad access no to call my US phone... the access no tpad has given in US is +12566498900 and many more, In follow me number I have given my US number. When I dial it asks for tpad number. Thereafter It shows that phone is ringing but I don't receive calls on my cell no.Whether call forwarding supported by phonegnome in US ?? Also to inform I have two different phonegnome account one set with indian number and other set with US number. As I felt that I am terminating calls to US number I am using the US phonegnome account details to set SIP in gtal2voip.. Let me know if this right...In gtalk2voip it shows me registered for both of the accounts and doesn't give any error... please advise..
This description is still fuzzy (to say the least). First you talk about phonegnome. Then you talk about tpad. Finally you describe my brother calling to Germany without saying how the call goes through gtalk2voip. I don't understand.
Two things:
For the TPad SIP information, should I provide my tpad number (7 digits) as the username or the "username" that I registered to tpad with? I currently have two SIP profiles, one with my number and one with my username.
Also, even though I have this set up, my calls are terminated at tpad. gtalk2voip doesn't seem to be picking up my calls from tpad. However, I've followed your directions to the T. Please let me know if there's something else I should be doing (I currently have voicemail and call forwarding disabled on my tpad account, and the message I get after entering my 7 digit tpad number is "Weasels have eaten our phone system")
How can you say that it is FREE call forwarding? First the other party has to pay the call to the tpad access number, then you have to pay for calling through SIP to a landline or cellphone with phonegnome! If you simply use tpad, it's cheaper, because calls to landlines are for free!
Hey. Thanks for changing the tutorial. Its much clearer now.
However, I am facing a problem - the status of the SIP providers does not show anything. How do i get them to successfully register in order to get this thing working?
Step 7, the status of SIP doesnt change to registered even after a day. Help!
Regards,
Shyam
Hello adwi66, Phonegnome is giving free call fwd service for USA (both Mobile & Landline). Please try to call your gtalk2voip SIP no. from some othere Sip software or PSTN gateway, if your phone rings then it means call fwd on your phone is working fine for your account and it should work properly for tapd also. Do not try to call your gtalk2voip SIP no. from service@gtalk2voip.com, it will not work. so try some othere gateway or softphone.u can also test your account from phonegnome.com website. Login to your phonegnome account, give your gatlk2voip SIP no. in QUICK CALL. your call should ring.If your phone and gtalk rings that means your phonegnome service is working fine for your phone. Read help below the QUICK CALL option to know how to dial SIP no.
Inthis way othere users can also check their account if they r facing some problem with call fwd.
For tapd reg. u have to give tapd no.( 7 digit) not the Tpad username.
Shyam & Ayush
if your status of SIP doesnt change to registered but if u get message from service@gtalk2voip.com as
Registered xyz@gmail.com on SIP service soft-12396865@pgp01.televolution.net
then you can ignore the status message on webpage. if you still face the problem, u can contact gtalk2voip team for this issue.
i have tried almost the same idea but using pbxes.com .the only problem i found was that the sound was dead ( but maybe i made some mistakes. So why dont you try it ?Maybe you can do it better Thanks
Hi Yogesh,
I did the quick call testing from phonegnome site. when I put my 1360215@sip.tpad.com as the sip ID I get calls on my cell phone which is registered on gtalk2voip site. Also when I give the phonegnome ID ie. soft-12626861@pgp01.televolution.net or gtalk2voip sip id ie.. *01899339 I am able to get calls on my cell no.. but when I dial the break-in number of tpad its ringing but not coming on my cell. I have the x-lite softphone installed on my PC for tpad which I was using before. I am able to get calls on my softphone when I dial the break-in number.. but when I exit from softphone and call using the same breakin number it gives me a ringing tone but my cell number doesn't ring.. My conclusion is my forwarding is working fine as when I call the 1360215@sip.tpad.com from phonegnome site its ringing my cell no but when I call it from some break-in number of tpad it doesn't work.. so there is some issue with the call getting diverted from tpad server to gtalk2voip server.. Its not able to reach to gtalk2voip when I have close my softphone.. Please advise.. Thanks for your very important testing advise.. now I am relaxed that my phonegnome forwarding is working fine atleast..waiting for you comments about how can this problem of reaching to gtalk2voip from tpad be resolved... Waiting for your reply...
Does it matter what settings my tpad account has? I currently have voice mail and call forwarding disabled on my tpad account and no credit.
I have made quick calls via phonegnome to both my gtalk SIP and my tpad SIP and they connect to my cell phone, so I have come to the conclusion that there is an error in the transfer of the PSTN connection to SIP on tpad's side. Any suggestions on how to remedy this? Thanks!
Hi, I am from usa. I am facing the exact same condition as adwi66. If I call using any sip service via the quick dial option in phonegnome page, my landline gets it. But if I dial the regular break in number, the calls are not forwarded. Says user not available and asks for voicemail. If my tpad softphone is on, calls come in to it. No way calls get forwarded from break in number part to any forwarding service. I saw in tpad forum that its only half open. Could that be the reason?
hi vinay,
thanks for all your effort.
but you should take your time whenever you write such type of great work. many people will invest thier precious time and because of your mistake everyone will suffer.
Still this hack does not work for most of the people.
whenever we call tpad and enter account numver i hear message " this account has no sufficient fund to forward call " - if i have forward no. in tpad accout. and i hear message " your party can not take call at this time " - if i have no forward no. in tpad accout.
how the call to tpad will routed to gtalk2voip.com and then phonegnome and then on cell or landline. tpad call wil not routed to gtalk2voip.com without some configuration. this hack will not work.
please be careful and explain in detail because everyone is not computer-wizard. please please explanin in detail each step and how it work.
Thanks for all your tips. Keep it up.
I Checked with VOIP2Gtalk. Whenever you call the Breakin number ,GTALK2voip is not able to get the domain name..It is getting only the IP address. I have spoekn with one of the founders of voip2gtalk .. this was concluded when he checked the logs......
Even the same happends to me as well..
Sarath
A lot of people in here wants to call for free to India.Well let me recommend you a free spaniard service that they call it as 902 phone numbers. You will need to be a voipuser user and dial the next phone number 0034902055489 if connected you dial 0091+area code+number and wait.Youll have 2,3 or 4 free minutes.More locations can be found here

Hi Vinay,
Thanks for your great help. Sorry I still did not understand your points 4 & 5.
Are you saying to add 2 providers (tpad & phonegnome) in "Define your own SIP providers"
What I have to select in dialing plan? i.e; in the drop list "route to provider"
For anyone still unclear about the setup, checkout this:

Hi Vinay,
Thanks for your tips. I tried the gtalk2voip system that you have explained, but it doesnt work as expected(you need to be logged in to galk and the tpad incoming doe not even reach the gtalk client). There is another site called pbxes.com, which allows you similar functinality as Voxalot, and it works fine.
I use truephone as my outgoing SIP, o phonegnome users will have to replace them.
1. if you already have an account from tpad, proceed to 2, else register at tpad.com
2. also register at pbxes.com and get an account
3. in the setup page in pbxes.com , do the following steps
4. In the extensions, add a new SIP extension:
Keep the extension number as 200
(in fact, it could bne any value)
Display name : "Outbound PSTN"
PSTN number : "14086351080"
(whichever number you want this forwarded)
all other fields either emmpty or default values
5. In trunks tab, add two SIP trunks , one for TPAD and one for PhoneGnome.
For eg, TPAD trunk field values will be:
Trunk name: Tpad
username: 1234567(ur username)
password : (pasword)
SIP serve: sip.tpad.com
register: yes(both inbound and outbound)
every thing else default values
(Similarly setup another SIP trunk for Phonegnome, only difference is that for register, you need to choose "No", since you are going to use it only for outbound. Moreover, if you keep it for registerin you wont be able to use your phonegnome account from any other softphone for instance)
6. Add an inbound route. Keep everything else blank, but inthe extension pull down menu choose "200" (the same that you chose for the outbound PSTN number.
7. add an outbound routing from left menu.
route name : "outbound"
dial patterns : "XX."
trunk sequence : choose "SIP/phonegnome" (choose the name you gave to the phonegnome trunk)
8. In the status window see that you see a tpad and phonegnome as green and your extension number also as green.
Call your tpad local access number and it will be forwarded to the number which you want.
one thingi am not sure is whether + is aded to the outgoing number in the case of phonegnome. since i am using another outbound provider, i have not verified with phonegnome.
Rgds,
Sudeep
I tried the same setting with voxalot and it works just great. But the same setting is not working with gtalk. I think something additional needs to be done on gtalk. Vinay please have a look
@raju
To dial the number 0034902... from anywhere you can do it only with
1.-voipuser.org (free)
2.-cuphone.com (buy a license)
3.-globe7.com (needs credit)
4.-wengophone.com (needs credit)
etc...betamax,skype,etc not included (
Hi Trouble_Monger,
I tried to setup PBEX stuff as you said.. I am not able to see when do I put the PSTN number in the SIP extension setup..
However there is an option of adding PSTN on the classic extension type.. Please clear steps of adding and extension in PBEX setup and where do I put the PSTN Number.
Thanks,
Has ANYBODY, ANYBODY succeeded in forwarding a call from a tpad landline break-in number to anywhere else? I dont think so. To the best of my knowledge, tpad does not allow outbound calls to be forwarded to any SIP services. Because then they wont get any revenue anywhere. Be it PBXes or Voxalot or Gtalk or phonegnome. If there is any one person who has done that, from a non free country (like India, Pakistan), please report so. Otherwise there is no point is wasting anyone's time with useless gimmicks. Calling from a computer to a landline for free sounds good, but thats not the reason we want to use tpad, right? It supposedly offers us a LANDLINE number "PHOR OUR POOR POOR PHAMILY MEMBAARS" at local call rates. But if you cannot receive that in your landline/mobile, then whats the goal? Someone should always be at a pc, either the PHAAMILY MEMBAR or the SHMAART BETA/BETI(Son/Daughter) Someone says.."Yeah I talked for free." Not good enough. Has anyone talked FROM a landline/mobile THROUGH a tpad break in number TO a landline/mobile YET? Dont think so. And until that happens..Vinay's statement "(This hack will rock the VOIP industry!)" will rock no one except Vinay and fellow readers.
Sorry for being a bit sarcastic vinay, I do appreciate your good efforts a lot, but just like someone else ponted out, all these leads us no where, and I myself am one who spend hours following the tweaks and hacks, to no avail, hence the steam.
Regards
Tomtom from USA

Dear Tomtom,
Thanks for wasting your 2 mins posting on this blog. I mean seriously wasting your valuable time.
Did you read what others said before accusing that this doesn't work.
Tpad has blocked access to gtalk2voip. You can ask the founders of Gtalk2voip for clarification if needed. Thats the reason it doesnt work anymore.
Tpad still works good with voxalot. This has worked for many people. We preferred gtalk2voip over voxalot since its free and voxalot will be paid soon.
Now secondly, I am not sure if you are indian/pakistani. The words you used in your comments does not make you SHMART (in your special english). Accusing people that they are looking for FREE stuff doesn't make you a smart guy. If you are happy paying for $100 calling cards, no one has asked you to come to this blog and waste your time.
If you understand how SIP works, you wont post that comment. SIP works across providers and as long as you have a SIP account you can forward calls to any other SIP provider without paying any money. In our case, Phonegnome is actual call forwarding service which is allowing us to terminate calls in certain countries (where they operate).
I also strongly you get some basic knowledge of SIP.
Hi Vinay.
This is my first post here.
So, what "free" SIP can I use instead of tpad?
Actually, on my gtalk-to-voip page, and then on "Define your own SIP providers", I put the Tpad and PhoneGnome settings all right(Tpad username = 7 digits number and Tpad and Phonegnome is ok), I think.
But there is something strange because after 20 minutes, and more than one day, the status of phonegnome doesn't change and happens the same with my Tpad account. So, what's happening and how can I(We - because there are some people here with this same problem) solve that? =)
And I have a doubt. On the page of gtalk-to-voip, clicking on "Define your dialing plan", what have to be there? nothing? or something added? =/
Finally, when I look at the session report of the gtalk-to-voip page, I see nothing in report. =S
These days, I tried the Quick Call of the PhoneGnome and it worked... but I think the real problem is between TPad and Gtalk.
When I call TPad and enter account number I hear a message "This account has no sufficient fund to forward call." - if I have forward no. in Tpad accout.
And I hear message "Your party can not take call at this time." - if I have no forward no. in Tpad accout.
Thank u! Any help will be appreciated.
PS.: Vinay, continue the very good work with this blog and congratulations for the blog. =D
PS.2: Sorry for my LONG first post. =P
Hi Vinay,
The call forwarding steps are cool. Guess they are working.
I suggest to simplyfy the process by eliminating gtalk for sip forwarding from TPAD to Phonegnome. The simple way is use
http://www.mysipswitch.com/ ..
Click on Create account
then scroll to see
No registrations were found.
here click on addnew
fill in the following info
username:TPAD_USERID
password:tapadpasswd
Server : SIP.TPAD.COM
Domain/Realm :SIP.TPAD.COM
Expiry Seconds:60
Contact-> sip:soft-XXX@@pgp01.televolution.net
The whole set up is activated instantly. Happy calling.. (i have yet to test it with phonegnome as i have a ATA with sipswitch used for forwarding SIPNUMBERS from UK & other countries etc to my adapter ) ..

Vinay thanks for you kind support here. I live in china and phonegnome does not suport. Is there any another way to forward call. Steps are confusing after reading 2-3 blogs. how i can forward any call made in TPAD to my local number in china.
Thanks pavan, i am gonna give it a try and let you know if it works.
Phonegnome does not forward calls to china for FREE, however you can pay and use it.
i am not aware of any other provider as of yet, but we are on the look out. if anyone knows a similar service, please let us know
Hi Vinay,
In sipswitch the last entry to be read as
Contact-> sip:soft-XXX@pgp01.televolution.net
The calls are successfully forwarded to ATA.
But if you want the phonegnome to dail out a landline or mobile it is not possible with above setup. There is also the dail plan option on sipswitch but I could not configure that part.
Thanks a lot the TPAD call forwarding...it works very well with good call quality !!!
Pavan
Hi Pavan, I am not too sure what are you achieving by forwarding calls from TPAD to phonegnome and then registering with ATA, whereas you can directly register your TPAD sip details with ATA.
I have worked around a solution with two phonegnome accounts and this is using the mysipswitch.
1. Register and open account with phonegnome say with your home number and call this account1.
2.Register and open account with phonegnome say with your work number and call this account2.
3. Goto phonegnome feature tab and set follow me on your accounts. So on home account number set follow me for work number and on work account set follow me for home number.
(Please note that follow me service as above is free for one month only)
4. You register your tpad (which has your work number registered)details with mysipswitch and contact-> to your phonegnome account1.
So now when someone rings your tpad number (associated with work number), the call is transfered to phonegnome account1, which then forwards it your work number.
In above workaround you can make it work with your home number as well.
Hope this works for others, those who are having problems with g2talk.
Best wishes and enjoy free calls.

Hi Vishu,
Since I have ATA for me the mysipswitch works without even the phonegnome. I am using this setup successfully.
I was trying out the alternative as suggested by Vinay without using my ATA or voxalot or even the gtalk2voip as lots of people do not have an ATA.
I wanted to achieve objective of transfer calls to my cellphone without using the ATA. In fact I have tested this successfully now.
I use the following.
1. TPAD
2. phonegnome (registered my cellphone number)
3. pbxes.com ( to forward the TPAD calls to my cellphone number). – using the steps posted by sudeep on pbxes. (I tried erion m ‘s detailed solution but got stuck - maybe I missed something )
Thanks to Sudeep and erion m's s posts on pbxes option.

I have a question:
I have registered accounts with tpad, phonegnome and pbx. However I am stumped as to how to link it all up. (i'm not techie inclined). I am seeking to call Gambia (W.Africa) to speak with family on a regular basis and to have them call me. Any comments or idea's on this? I would GREATLY appreciate it.
Leedah,
If i am not wrong, I guess you are in USA. Then why dont you ask your family members in gambia to use earthcaller or icall to make free calls to you.
Its very hard for you to call them since no one seriously offers free calls to africa.
you maybe yeigo mobile voip, they are a south african company so you and your family can connect using their mobile voip client on your mobile phone.
Hi Vinay
How are you?
Does Tpad offer delhi numbers in India.
no. Currently Tpad is only offering numbers in Mumbai. However last time i spoke to them, they said they would look beyond Mumbai and offer break in numbers in other metro cities which i think delhi should be the next one.
Will try to talk to them again on progress and update you all.
Hi, if anyone can help cause this is driving me crazy. I simply cannot get call forwarding to work, here is what i've done.
1. Set up a PhoneGnome account and activated the Features -> SoftGnome Remote Access. (This is what I thought will forward calls to my UK Cell phone number). Is this step correct?
2. Created an account on Tpad but have not enabled any call forwarding features on Tpad's website.
3. Registered both the Tpad and Phonegnome accounts as sip providers in Gtalk-to-voip. Both are showing as status registered.
4. Registered my phonegnome sip provider as my dialing plan in Gtalk-to-voip. Did not set a prefix in the dialling plan option.
5. Defined a follow me or sip uri in gtalk-to-voip as my UK cell number starting +447...
6. Signed out and back in to Google talk to make sure everything is correctly registered. It says it is.
Now I tried to call my Tpad number using a Tpad Break in number from a regular UK landline. After about 20 seconds I get a message saying that this number is not available and i should leave a message. Why doesn't it divert? Do I actually need to use the find me/follow me premium service in Phonegnome to divert this call to my cell?
Please somebody who this has worked for help me, and others who are frustrated like me out. I've tried to be as detailed as possible
Thanks to whomever can.
Lio

Other than SIPBroker, is there any other way/alternative for people in Singapore to call from PSTN-to-SIP?

The mumbai number you gave 02228665454 is not working
Hi Vinay,
I appreciate your effort to do it without ATA. But, in Germany, as you mentioned(in your listed countries), I cannot find Phonegnome forward SIP-calls to my handy or landline number. I could receive it upto gtalk, but cannot get it on mobile.
Hope, to hear from you, whether, there is some alternative to Phonegnome.com for Germany for Sip-Call-Forwarding?
Gruss,
A.T
In USA I have incoming IPkall number coming to my ATA (fonosip info in line 2 of SPA2102).
How in this elaborate rigmarole can I place outbound calls from my ATA to PTSN based in USA?
