(For full text with comments please click on the title)

Just when you thought, VOIP Guide is slowing down on FREE VOIP and free call offers. We are back with some great news for our Phone to Phone free call lovers. This time Raketu does it again.

Raketu is a leading VOIP/IPTV services company. However their focus is more on the integrated VOIP/IPTV platform. However lately they started concentrating on the VOIP and especially free calls business to push their bundled product.

We blogged about their free calls offer to over 40 countries . That offer was limited to Now they are going one step further by offering phone to phone free calls.

Raketu now offers users free phone-to-phone calling using our RakWeb Calling service. Raketu's RakWeb service does not require any software download and can be accessed directly from any web browser, and from mobile devices at Raketu.Mobi

The way it works: Make a pre-payment to your Raketu account, and you will recieve up to 1200 free minutes per month for 3 months. These minutes can be used for: phone-to-phone calling. If both phones are in the Raketu free calling zones, you can talk for up to 600 minutes for free. If only one of the phones is in a Raketu free calling zone, you can talk for up to 1200 minutes on the free calling zone phone. Of course, if you phone is not in Free Calling Zone then normal rates apply.

Calling it "phone-to-phone" is kind of misleading. It still need a web browser to trigger the phone call at least.

DO NOT use that raketu, it's really a bad one, poor quality of sound, really poor, and the only thing you notice, is that your balance keep going lower and lower even of the calls that doesnt succeed. I hate this service, I have put 10$ and I just lost thatv 10$

Piece of garbage. You guys should do better homework before promoting such garbage. I have learnt to trust your word. Please think about your reputation.

Anyway, thanks for your great newsletter. This time, you slipped. :)

We take everything with a smile and we also like criticism. Maybe we were wrong with this Raketu (sounds like rahu ketu funny, you would understand if u r a indian).

Never mind, appreciate constructive criticism and we can't be 100% right all the time :-)

I totally agree that raketu is not a good service I tried for a while and the have issues with the quality of the service (sound is very poor if you use the web application or phone to phone specially the last one) plus you need to use a PC to be able to use phone to phone or if you have a data service on your cell phone you can use it to initiate the call instead of using PC. all that said the charge for connection if the call does not go through and that happen a lot (if the call does go through there is no charge).I did contact there customer service with the issue but until writing those line no response (that was like two months now).any way over all experience try it on your own risk.

1. Quality of calls - my contact could not understand words
2. They charge even if you call a free-zone country
3.Shabby interface
----
Recommendation: don't use it

PS. I asked for refund and they returned my balance-processing fee
