Joiphone offers unlimited india and pakistan calls

(For full text with comments please click on the title)

Do you live in USA? Don't mind paying a bit for making calls to your loved ones back home? Then this is the deal for you. This unlimited calls offer won't last long. Get in and Grab it.

We always make an effort to find Free VOIP calls to India or pakistan. However, its not easy to find such offers all the time. At the same time, we received massive comments from people primarily in USA that they are ready to PAY a right price for the right product.

I think this offer from JoiPhone is a killer offer. If you are not aware of Joiphone, then let us give you a background of this VOIP/Broadband company founded back in 1999. By 2005, they were one of the largest broaband providers in USA. When sunrocket went bust, we posted a quick alternative solution to Sunrocket. Joiphone was one of the primary alternative to Sunrocket. Why? Simplicity and straight forward approach to VOIP Calls.

If you compare, Joiphone with other providers like Vonage, Verizon etc. No one is offering unlimited calls to India/Pakistan. You buy a service worth $10 per month and use that service to make calls to India. At end of the day, you pay much more than $50 per month since all those calls to India are charged at 8-12 cents per minute.

With Joiphone, you can make unlimited calls to India and Pakistan. That's not all, you can make calls to about 70 countries. YES, you heard it right. No cap on how many minutes you can talk. Talk as much as you want. Just pick up the phone dial your friends in UK, next minute talk to your GF in India :-) Burn the phone line as much as you can without worrying about per minute charges.

With Joiphone, you can make unlimited calls to :
Albania*, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Brazil Country Wide, Canada, China, Dominican Republic, El Salvador (CTE), Finland, France, Germany, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico*, Puerto Rico, Russia*, South Korea, Spain, Thailand Cellular, United Kingdom, Uruguay, US Virgin Islands, Zimbabwe and many more.

On top of this Joiphone offers some great features for FREE:

1) Keep Your Existing Phone Number
2) 911 Emergency Service
3) Call Forwarding
4) 411 Directory Assistance
5) Voicemail via Phone/Web
6) Hunt Me/Follow me
7) Block Anonymous Calls
8) CID on Call Waiting
9) Call Blasting- Simultaneous Call
10) Call Conferencing
11) 30 Day money back Gurantee
12) No Contract, Cancel Anytime you want

and many more! This features makes joiphone offers almost business level given away to Retail customers.

IF you don't want to take $39.95 offer, you can subscribe for lower packages which starts from as low as $8.95 per month. That's ridiculously low prices for making unlimited calls.

Honestly, we feel this is the best deal we have seen in many years. What JoiPhone is offering can't be replaced by any exisiting calling card or VOIP service, atleast at this stage.

So if you are worried about overpaying while making calls to your loved ones, why not switch to JoiPhone?

Signup for $39.95 per month. This offer has expired.

this is a good choice if you are going to replace your home phone service with VOIP or will make a lot of call to india. on the other hand as an adition to your already existing phone services this costs $480.00 per year. that will buy you 18,000 minutes with nonoh(i based this on an average of the landline and cell rates from nonoh converted appox. 1.4 USD/EUR) plus you get 300 minutes a week free to other locations.

Vinay said...

Yeah. We expect users to replace their existing phone service if they can or have additional line if they need it.

Secondly, comparing Nonoh to joiphone isnt right. Since Nonoh is purely a voip services company with NO customer support.

If you loose money in nonoh, its gone for good.

You also need to think about your usage, with Nonoh you need to constantly monitor how many minutes you used, otherwise you will overspend.

With Joiphome you don't need to calculate your daily spending. Just pick up the phoen and dial.

Joiphone is for people who don't mind spending some money to reach their loved ones at any time of the day without thinking of phone bills and ever changing calling rates to India.

Its all about Freedom to make unlimited calls to india and pakistan and of course other countries.

Great review and offer vinay. I just signup with your coupon code special offer and now waiting for them to install it :-)

I am getting rid of my vonage. Its horrible. I spend over $ 80 per month to make calls to pakistan.

Initially i thought the same like someone mentioned, I would use calling cards or vonage service and will save money. Forget that man. I tend to overspend on what i originally thought.

I need to make calls to my fiance everyday :-) we talk for hours sometimes. then i call my parents, friends sometimes.

Now with joiphone i dont have to worry. You send me a great Gift.

Thanks again for the offer. I would definately ask people to signup with your offer. Its really worth it.

Even am thinking of signing up and replace my viatalk line. Joiphone is offering a great deal here. thanks again.

Thanks vinay. I just signed up. Its kinda late in here :-( i was damn sleepy but your offer seem to be too good to be missed.

Hopefully they send me the stuff soon. I guess it should come on monday. will let you know.

Hey can someone suggest on the voice quality of the Jaiphone

Anonymous said...

Hi, this is ravi from Arizona. I have been using joiphone. I signed up last time using one similar coupon given by vinay when sunrocket went down. I switched. They did everything for me including my phone line porting. I am using the same number.

I can confirm that their service is great. Fantastic customer support. Great voice quality.

Joiphone all the way. I used vonage and sunrocket earlier, but joiphone is atleast 500% times better in everything they do.

Hope that helps.

Hi i'm from Morocco i want to call landline in france and spain is there any possibility for free long minutes calling...
Greeting for you from Morocco for all the effort you and your are team doing ;)

Vinay said...

If you signup now, the offer will be assigned to you. So you are fine.

Those who dont signup using this offer might not get it later. Once you signup, you can safely assume this would last for atleast 1 year.

Remember joiphone allows you to cancel at any time unlike other providers. You can cancel if they stop the offer after 1 year. Simple as that.

Anonymous said...

Anon in Morocco,

Do you have high speed internet and a SIP phone/softphone? The expense is in the morocco leg of the call so you do not want to use callback or dial through you want to iniate the call from your computer. If you can do that there are lots of good deals to spain/france including many possiblities to call for free. I recommedn betamax services like voipcheap and voipstunt.

Does it work on airtel network in india? just want to know because it states that it work on India Cellular.......

Vinay said...

It should work as some people already confirmed.

The most important thing is even if it doesnt work, you can get full money back within 30 days.

They would only charge for the VOIP device they send you which is about $18.50 something, which you can anyways use in future. So u r not wasting any money at the end of the day.

i will tell you all once i get my voip adapter.

Vinay said...

Dont worry about $98. The coupon worked for you. They are charging you one time setup fees + Courier charges. They would only charge you now on per month basis.

Since it was a weekend, it will take 1-2 working days to process your order.

Vinay said...

from UK and Germany, i will find out something similar for you guys. Using joiphone from outside USA, doesnt make much sense since they wont send you the device out of usa, secondly its a big issues handling Credit card transactions and monthly charges since joiphone doesnt provide services out of usa.

I would find out some good offers for you, so be rest assured :-)

Can you please tell me whether the Joiphone unlimited calling plan works for all cities in tamilnadu as it shows in destination list as " India Madras, India Cellular". Will it work for landlines too?. I want to make sure before signing with them. I will appreciate your quick response.

Sarath said...

Guys,
This joiphone offer doesn't work. I already signed up with them 30 days ago and 10 days back I upgraded to this plan. Still i get charged by the calls. Pity thing is they don't consider reliance india mobile as cellular and not even airtel..I got charged and they are working on that issue now..
Any one can confirm whether this is working now ?
I am damn sure it is not working..

I will also ask about Tamilnadu cellular coverage.

I wonder , are these unlimited calls to one particular no. in india or any phone (landline/cell) in india, also does it involve double installation, like mpingi or some others where you need to install in usa and in india too?
thanks for the info though, sounds real awesome, so whats the catch?

Anonymous said...

Hey Vinay is banladesh coming in their unlimited plan soon?? If you happen to know anyother free call services for bangldesh please post it.

Vinay said...

We speculated a lot since last 2-3 days about which destinations are covered under joiphone and which are not.

Rather than you guys trusting me or anyone else who posted comments claiming joiphone works in this city and it doesnt work in that city, its always better to get OFFICIAL answer from joiphone.

So i fired an email to Their VP-Marketing, who replied to me with all the information. This is the most trusted source and most accurate information about what Joiphone is providing right now.

The following Calling Codes are supported by JoiPhone:

India Cellular 9197

India Cellular 9199

India Cellular 9192

India Cellular 9198

India, Ahmadabad 9179

India, Bangalore 9180

India, Hyderabad 9140

India, Madras 9144

India, New Delhi 9111

Considering this for e.g: If you are calling mumbai, hutch number it could be 919820, which is supported since it has 9198. Match the first 4 digits to the desired numbers.

So Joiphone currently doesn't offer free calls to rest of the destinations. However on our special request, JoiPhone is currently designing another new plan exclusively for India that will cover India countrywide.

I shall update the blog once i get more details.

So those who are currently covered under the existing plan can go ahead and get signed up. This price might not last long.

Those who are not covered keep a watch on the blog, the new offer might pop-up soon.

Vinay said...

I also received some request from people outside of USA who wanted to get Joiphone. Joiphone is kinda ready to explore this. You need to send me email on ut.godmode@gmail.com with some information regarding your city/country you live in and I will check with joiphone on how we can proceed with this.

Vinay said...

Someone asked, if its a double installation no its not. Only you need a Joiphone service, you can make calls to India. They dont need a similar adapter.

Secondly, Bangladesh cellular is available under FREE destinations.

Anonymous said...

Information on similar service offerings for call originating from Germany (destination: India) would be appreciated.

Vijay said...

I Just ordered this plan and spoke to the customer care to clarify about the cell phones which we can call in the unlimited plans.

They said all the cell phone codes listed under would be included in the plan apart from the mentioned cities like Ahemdabad,Bangalore,Hyderabad,Madras & new delhi.

Following are the cell codes first two digits which would be FREE:

India Cellular 91 92

India Cellular 91 97

India Cellular 91 98

India Cellular 91 99

India Cellular-BSNL 91 94

Check list given by vinay. Add those codes to this list. The final list is:

India Cellular 9197

India Cellular 9199

India Cellular 9192

India Cellular 9198

India, Ahmadabad 9179

India, Bangalore 9180

India, Hyderabad 9140

India, Madras 9144

India, New Delhi 9111

i got my adapter yesterday and i used it. It works!!!!!!!!!! good sound quality since i only have 768k dsl. i wanted to let u know that it charges $0.08 per minute if u call bsnl cell 9194.

Anonymous said...

Hi Vinay
I spoke with the customer support, they said that phone numbers not listed in the web page will not be free, i specifically mentioned bout your blog and the lady said if it is not listed in the web page, it is not included in the free calling. therefore according to them india cellular BSNL starting with 91 94 is not included in the calling that makes me sad. i tried to explain to her that it is the main cellular provider of india but she just said i dont make decision about what is included in free call and what is not, therefore i had this request for you Vinay

COULD YOU PLEASE VERIFY FROM YOUR SOURCE IN JOIPHONE ABOUT WEATHER IT IS INCLUDED IN THE FREE CALL AND IF SO CAN THEIR WEB PAGE BE UPDATED SO THAT WE CAN AVAIL OF THIS SOURCE

Hi everybody,

I signed up for joiphone after vinay's excellent review of this service. It is really a marvelous offer. All the numbers as listed on their site are absolutely free as I tried personally. You can dial any number for unlimited time and they will not charge you if the number is as per the list. Sound quality is excellent.

I signed up for 1 year plan but I suspect will they continue to provide India as free destination for whole year or SUNROCKET history will be repeated?

Vinay can you please confirm from them that they will continue to provice India as free destination forever? Also they charge for Voicemail ( I belive there may be some mistake in thier system ) can you please ask them to correct the mistake?

Thank you so much to Vinay and his team for an excellent help and make families together... We salute you for your excellent help.

Vinay said...

Thanks for your honest and unbiased review. Like many other are confirming, the service has high quality standards and its turning out to be a must have service.

Did u call them for the voicemail bug? Give them a call, if nothing works out let me know. I will talk to them personally.

About running this offer for whole one year, I would say YES why not. Its one of their most enticing and interesting offer. They are able to crush their competition by offering this product. I hope they continue to offer. I would talk to them on this issue sometime soon.

Hey vinay,

I had a joiphone service plan with unlimited calls to 70countires and it was activated on October 22 and i was using it to call india to my relatives. I was talking to them for 2-3hrs everyday and then what happen is joiphone blocked my service and when i called them they told me that you were calling only india for 2-3hrs and that was against their terms and condition.
Their terms and condition are as follows:
Unlimited International Calling Plans JoiPhone offers Unlimited International calls to designated countries and destinations worldwide. Unlimited calls are for residential use only where the caller should not use more minutes than our average residential customers are using on a daily weekly or monthly basis.

Excessive use of more than 5 times the average of typical residential use will
be considered as abuse calls and therefore violating this Term of Service
Agreement.

JoiPhone reserve the right to promptly terminate abusers accounts.

Vinay said...

Hi Deep,

As mentioned by you, you have signed up on 22nd october. I assume that you didnt signup using our offer since we posted that on 28th october.

Let me talk to their marketing team since you are our regular reader and clarify these things. Thanks for your feedback.

sarath said...

Deep, You are trying to abuse their service.
This is the problem with you people.
Please don't abuse the service again.
try to understand
sarath

Vinay said...

guys,
i sent email about issues recently discussed by Vijay & Deep. I am copy pasting their email for your reference.

Vinay,

The customer should have not sound issues, he can call support and we can try to adjust his setting to resolve his sound issue. Our quality is normally better then other VOIP provider since we use very expensive hardware on the customer and switch side.

As far as abusers, our system is set to find customers who abuse our TOS. Some customers try to run a business, or share our service with others. Our system will find and block these users. The parentage of abuses is very low, a fraction of a percent will get blocked.

Joe

Vinay said...

As sarath said,

Please understand that joiphone absorbs the cost while providing you free service. It still costs them the same money.

If you are using their service and routing calls to provide your own service, its qualified as illegal. This is not a business voip service. Its purely for residential private use and not to be shared with other users.

Hope that make things more clear. Anyone else has any other isues, please let me know.

Anonymous said...

hey vinay,im a little bit confused about that issue.i called my mom back in Pakistan like 2,3 hours every day.its normal or is their any limit using that service.i hope they dont block me for that

deep said...

Dear vinay

As you said that this service is only for resident use not for business use, and i m using it for resident use and even though they cancel my service. They told me that you have to balance equal amount of call to india and to usa. As sarath said that i m abusing the service it then i m not abusing it becasue i m using it for resident use only.

Anonymous said...

Hi Vinay
As per your great advice, i signed up for the service, but of the comment by deep sent me few jitters. do you know the average household usage rate ? i meant is there any limit, i use it for residential purpose only but because of unlimited service, might use it a lot. so can you tell us how much is average usage
thanks for your help

Anonymous said...

Vinay,

It will really help if you can get the real number of minutes to India that Joiphone considers to be normal residential use. I am almost about to sign up for their $40 plan but read here that unlimited is a marketing word than reality.

Who wants to pay for their plan in advance for a year, then get blocked, and further wait on refunds to be issued back.

Thanks.

Anonymous said...

hi vinay,i signed up at ur advice.its working great but now im scared .i dont wana be blocked.
pls tell us wats the limit to call pakistan .thanks

Ganesh said...

I signed up for joiphone a week back. After talking to customer support I got to know that unlimited doesn't really mean we can make call 24 hrs a day. We are bound by an average residential usage, what is dissapointing is that we really don't know how many minutes of usage a day would be consisdered a normal usage?

All I could undestand was that we shouldn't be making long calls lasting an hr or so. Short calls are supposedly fine....but how many calls..how many minutes ...no idea. So the guess work is really frustrating. It would be great if we know what in terms of minutes is an average residential unit.

I was always skeptical about this unlimited term and as such just signed for month to month plan..was willing to spend an extra $10 rather than use the coupon and end up paying $39 * 12 and then know these things. Once we have a used for a month we woudld really know things better.

Having said that it would be great if someone who has been a customer for more than a month can give some insights.

Hi Vinay,

I am planning to use their sevice in UK. I found one thing in their site.

Please comment on this.
"Use of Service Outside the United States You may make International calls using Our Service, however using and/or initiating the JoiPhone Service or the JoiPhone Adapter in any countries other than the United States is not supported by JoiPhone. If You use the Service or the JoiPhone Adapter outside of the United States, You will be solely responsible for – and You expressly agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless JoiPhone, its officers, employees, agents and contractors from and against any claims, judgments, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or in connection with – violations of any foreign or local laws, policies or regulations resulting from such use. JoiPhone reserves the right to terminate your Service immediately if it determines, in its sole and absolute discretion, that You have used the Service or the JoiPhone Adapter outside of the United States."

Hello Vinay! I have been visiting your blog since a long time now and recommended to all my friends, but this is my first post here by my name. I was completely attracted to the joiphone service, but as I saw their destinations for unlimited calling today, I didnt find India cellphones there anymore. can you confirm for me if they are still offering this service or they will have it up again soon?

Anonymous said...

Vinay,

As per your advise, i did signed up for the whole year and paid them a hefty amount. Now what i see is they no longer have those five - six cellular numbers in the list and it seems like a scam. They marketed those cellular numbers and i signed up seeing those cellular numbers because the other city landline numbers are of no use for me as i don't call anybody in those cities. Please get me those cellular codes free as they marketed earlier.

Vinay said...

Sorry everyone. I was away for 3 days and has no internet access.

Yes. You are right. I can confirm that joiphone does not provide free calls to India mobile anymore. Will check them on why did they stop that option.

Secondly people posting negative comments about the company, please authenticate your identity by posting with a registered name rather than anynomyous.

VOIP Guide is a respected blog where opinions count. We accept negative/positive feedback about the company. However some competitors sabotage other companies to create a wrong impression.

Please use a registered name. Always remember do not use abusive lanugage. We dont accept comments which are abusive or racial.

OK here is the latest update. I want to hear from everyone which option they want to choose:

Vinay,

We found another issue where more then anticipated customers calling India cell phone which are more expensive then land lines. We may need to modify calls to cell phone. We have 2 options which we like to hear yours and customer’s opinion on

1. Let customers calling cell phone pay 3 cent per minutes everywhere in India

2. Give 500 free minutes to all cell phones and then charge the normal rate

We get feed back from customers everyday. Your feed back will help us determine which way to go in respect to cell phone calling to India.

Guys choose the Option you want so I can convey your choice to Joiphone.

Sarath said...

Dear Friends,
I have spoken to the Joiphone sales team and what they told was people who signed up early will stil get free to India and people who wants to signup now should start paying 3 cents to india..
They told me so many people abusing their new system and there was some other person who was trying to run business saying talk to India at 4cents/minute.
They have beautiful hardware and they can detect if we try to abuse their system

Thanks
sarath

vijay said...

well let me make up my mind about them, i already had issues with them, and now that they have removed what i and most of us guessed would be a hoax, i pity those who without trying the service for a month decided to take a full year package.

I wont say its Vinay's fault, as he tries to tell us the best deal in market, and keeps us updated, but more or less all the deals we come across are busted sooner or later, thats what i have seen in past 6-7 months.. and i always believed thats what this blog is about, to pick up latest on deals.. and well deals aint meant to last forever...

sadly in case of joiphone it didnt even last a month... having 500 minutes for $40 a month is pretty much rubbish when freecallplanet gives you the same for $27 and you dont really have to stick to your home phone/voip phone for that,3 cents per minute after paying $40 too doesnt make any sense to me.

I'm glad i used common sense to try out the service for a month and now can simply get it disconnected and forget $98, but i feel bad for guys who registered for a year, i can see vinay has a soft corner for Joiphone guys, despite the fact that when they said unlimited it really wasn't unlimited , i would believe that was simply the omen of things to come with joiphone.. so i guess now vinay should make sure that all those guys who don't really like the Joiphone OPTIONS, should get their money back, i can see on their website they say no cancellation fee, but i donno if they will refund those who might not ever call landlines in those 4-5 cities.

My personal suggestion to joiphone on the fact that paying exorbitant amount with out any mobility means a business model thats not gonna find any buyers, to begin with i am done with them. Thanks Vinay, will wait for the next deal :)

vijay said...

Also a gentle note for mr. Sarath who was really rude to deep saying "this is the problem with you people", well when you have unlimited its supposed to be used unlimited,i cant find a different meaning to unlimited in any lexicon. Also i never got a call from AT&T or had my service blocked when i talk hours on weekends and after 9pm, that i'm misuing the free after 9 and on weekends service.

Just talk some sense brother, if they didnt wana give unlimited they should say what they are giving, i would say it was joiphone who abused consumers by making false claims, i really dont appreciate people thinking this service is for their personal use and any one else willing to use is abusing it.. every one who signed up here was attracted by unlimited calling, i would agree one should not use it for business but if they had a average residential kind of plan they should call it that, not unlimited, i wont blame deep but joiphone for sure.. his comments were surely absurd and illogical...

Anonymous said...

Good One Bhai!!

Sarath said...

Vijay,
I am sure AT&T and T-Mobile also have their cutoff policies if you try to abuse their systems.Unlimited is always limited everywhere.
It will be in the TOS agreements.I found that in Mobile Usage policies.
You are talking about local with in US(AT&T) but what about US to India it is not local..so we should always be in our limits.
Thanks
Sarath

Sarath said...

Vijay,
Check T-mobile, AT&T Service usage conditions below..

Use of Service. We may terminate your Service or change your rate plan at any time, with notice, if we determine, in our sole discretion, that your use of the Service is excessive, unusually burdensome, or unprofitable to us.
What do you say now Vijay ?

There are many customers whose connection got deactivated and they are never entertained.
So please be intellectual next time you are commenting others.
Just MS is not sufficient and you can't talk irrelevant what ever it comes to you.

Sarath

NRI said...

well said vijay.. you spoke to my heart. Neither the 2 options vinay offered doesn't seem to be hot. Most of the people comapre the price with the number of mins you can talk to india. and paying $50 is already more and on top of that if we have to pay usage charges, thats not going to win.
And, joiphone claiming they have beautiful hardware and they can detect if we try to abuse their system , is absurd. If they really have such kind of hardware, they need to detect such kind of calls and not the calls we make home and speak for a extended amounts of time. This is not fair on their part.

Ganesh said...

Here is the latest from my interaction with customer support.

The free destination numbers depend on when you signed up.So customers who signed up before Joiphone removed India mobile numbers from the free call list, can still call those mobile numbers for free.

In other words the changes affect new prospective customers. To new customers it would mean they wouldn't be able to make free calls to mobile numbers in India.

I think it would be best to have 3 cents a minute for all cell phones. We all would agree that everyone who has signed up wants to talk to their friends and family for a much longer time daily. So no one wants to give up the option of continuous talk rather than many small talks.
IF you do the math, anyone who wants to use more than 3000 minutes a month (An hour and a half per day ) would rather have 3 cents a minute as it would be cheaper than 500 free minutes and 6 cents a minute from thereon.

I think even if we get 3 cents a minute deal it would still be better than anything out there for people who want to use it for a longer period of call times.

By the way I purchased annual package yesterday and hopefully still get the discount package (even if i get 3 cents a minute calls)

Thanks,

Amit

Thanks for the feedback. As i can see some customers are happy with the service and some are screaming.

In future, VOIP Guide is planning to launch a way to track genuine customer feedback. We have some plans in the pipeline. This should help everyone while choosing their next voip provider.

I had talks with joiphone once again on the issues. Joiphone is ready to give you all an offer.

Joiphone says, "We are eager to satisfy most of our customers calling to India and we think we can do it by fine tune the plan for both parties beneficial. The problem always is few bad apples so….let see what if we offer 800 free minutes to India Countrywide! Cell and home phone.(and 3 cents/min there after which is also a steal)

We believe this is a very good deal considering that typical rate to India is 8-10 cent that is $60-80 value!! And you get phone line with 40 features, support and unlimited calling in USA and 70 other countries."

Guys,

I need your feedback or suggestion what you expect. If i get some serious feedback and expectations, I might manage to get something in favour of you people.

Rather than screaming over things, lets look at this issue rationally and get the best deal.

Let me know. Please use sensible words while commenting. All offensive comments will be removed. This blog is read by over 20000 people worldwide everyday, I dont want to give them wrong impression.

Vinay,

I agree with you, We need to see the bright side in all of this. Even if we get 800 free minutes and 3 cents a minute its still a fantastic deal. Again I did a simple math here for everyone.

3500 Minutes on Joiphone (Hour and a half a day)

800 Free
2700 minutes @ 3 cents a minute to any phone (Cell or landline) = 81$

Total 40+81 = 121$

The next best which I use right now is 6.5 cents a minute (Calling card)
= 3500@ 6 cents = 210$

I still save 90$ in this deal. I think its a great deal. But would like to see if they are willing to offer it soon.

Thanks for all the help Vinay.

Hi Vinay,

800 + 0.3 Cents per min is a good offer....

And also please clarify the following things..

Here are Some Sugesions

1) This is not Specific to Country India.

2)If I Use calls to UK or with in US. Is there any limit for that.

3) What is the Fair Usage..in this case What is the the Limit(no of min)

4)Before Blocking,If they call Customer and inform about 'they r going to Block Next Time if customer is using more calls' that would be nice. Everybody will reduce calls.

5) Hope US,UK..etc calls are really free( not included in 800 free min)

6) If they offer any plan like ' UNLIMITED CALLS to 1 or 2 Numbers in INDIA'
Note: Unlimited means Full Unlimited..No Limit (add-on Package)
They can Charge...xx$ for that. But complete FREE calls to those numbers.

If they comeup with another plan which includes above points..almost everybody will enjoy it...

Thanks for your Help.

Cheers,
Srikanth

well above is my calling information, and today i got warning from them for excessive usage.. i never used the phone for more then 40-45 minutes a day on weekday and probably 60-80 minute on weekend.. out of the 922 minutes used in 20 days i guess around 850 should be for india, now even that is considered excessive, so i guess eventually they will ban everybody who talks for more then 15 minutes... really ridiculous.. i would rather not take what ever they have to offer as they keep changing their mind / policy / rates and who knows if they might go bankrupt like sunrocket one day, no point having a yearly deal.

no abuses here and dont wana get personal to any one but if some one thinks at&t might ban them for excessive talking then they should better not talk at all..

Ganesh said...

Thanks a lot Vinay for all your efforts. Its much appreciated.

Here is the calculation, I am being pessimistic by calculating for a month-to-month basis rather than a full year pre-payment

800 minutes for 50 dollars would mean 6.25 cents a minute to India which is close to what many other providers might also offer.

So to take real advantage of this offer the customer needs to use another $50 @ 3 cents a minute. In that case its much much better than what any other providers might offer.

So 800 free minutes + 3 cents a minute thereafter is very good deal for people who make calls in excess of $100 a month.

At the same time its not really the best of deals for customer with usage in the range of $30 a month. Such customers wouldn't have minded paying an additonal $20 to get unlimited free calls, but with the new plan now they would be forced to make calls in excess of $100 to get the real benefit out the plan. For such low usage customers it would be better to stick to some providers who give ~7 cents/min which would give flexibility in terms of how many dollars you spend rather than shelling out $50 a month all the time.

In all I feel this offer from Joiphone sounds a very attractive one. My 2 cents.

RAMA said...

I suggest wait for the some more time before registering in this offer. If it lasts. Successful one will always last longer
I bought this service recently 1 week back, today I got a mail saying I am using beyond reasonable residential usage.
I called 1.20 hours average per a day.

It's says Unlimited offer. I am paying 49$+Tax.
Some one saying I think it’s Sarat people shouldn’t abuse.
Are you working for Joiphone or you have no idea what you are talking.
If they have an upper limit of usage please tell them to come clean and advertise on their main page.
I think people should start recommending only after certain period of their successful usage i.e in calling cards atleast 6 months. VOIP plans god only knows
Thanks,
Rama

Hi Vinay,

if they provide absolutely free calls to 1 or 2 numbers we choose that would be great! I am sure everyone will be satisfied with 1 or 2 numbers like their own family. That should be fine! I would sign-up RITE NOW! if i get tht deal...

Hi Guys,

Here is a small update. I contacted customer service specifically asking them what they mean by discretely using the unlimited time. Although this answer is far from anything satisfactory. I also talked to them on the phone about this and still no clear answer. Vinay, did you get a chance to talk to JOiphone about what they can offer and to who they can offer.
I mean info like , if thhey give a deal will it be for current customers or future customers etc.

Here is the email from customer service.

Dear Customer,

Our system averages out the normal average for all of our customers
as far as a exact number of minutues isconcerned there is no exact
answer however if it exceeds 5 times the normal behaiver than that is
consideredabusive for example no one will stay on the phone for 8 hours
a day on a international call.

Thanks,

Joiphone Sales

Let me know if you hear something new. I am eager to see what we come up with.
Amit

Ganesh said...

I also got a mail from Joiphone indicating my usage exceeds normal residential usage and hence is an abuse of the system.

My average usage is around an hour a day and thats considered not a normal one..may be because by that rate we might end up calling 30-35 hours a month and Joiphone would have to absorb a lot of cost.

I really feel the current offer from Joiphone of 800 free minutes + 3 cents/min is a good one as atleast there wouldn't be confusion in our mind as to are we abusing the system / exceeding the usage.

The joiphone website mentions this new plan, so I called up billing and showed my interest to move to this plan ( to avoid all the headache and guesswork). However I was informed that though the website shows this plan, its still under consideration and not yet being offered.

I read a couple of suggestions about giving 1 or 2 free numbers. Please understand that its not an issue of customers calling 50-100 numbers. Its the total hours of international calls, calling 1 numbers for x hours is no diffrerent from calling x hours to 50 different numbers. Joiphone objection is to the per day usage of india calls, so we should live with the fact that atleast for now we wouldn't be getting unlimited free calls.

Hopefully joiphone makes up its mind on the 800 minutes plan.

Srikanth said...

Hi Vinay,

In the website they updated information for India "Home phone and cellular 800 minutes free".

They didn't mention any thing about after 800 min what is the rate?
IS it 0.03$ or not?

This time please make sure that "What about other counties List" ..all other countries(other than India) are free or not? any CAP

Let them call & intimate before Disconnecting the Service at least 3 times.

They given limit on India Calls. So,now there should n't be limit on number of calls & number of min...to the other countries.

Please clarify the above things...

Joiphone updated website again with less information.

Cheers,
Srikanth

Jai said...

I would like to share my experience in response to Srikanth's comment that "They given limit on India Calls. So,now there should n't be limit on number of calls & number of min...to the other countries.". I don't believe that would be the case because in my case, most of numbers I called were out of their covered nos. so i was essentially paying 3 cents/min for them and still my account was blocked. therefore, I believe it would be better if Vinay could find a concrete answer from Joiphone or they announce it themselves...explicitly. Otherwise don't just assume that there wouldn't be any limits to calls if you are paying 3 cents or whatever.
thanks!

Ganesh said...

Jai's comments really scares me, his account was blocked even though he was calling numbers which were charged 3 cents/min. This would be really bad as what it effectively means is take our connection @ $50 a month but don't make any calls.

Vinay can you please get these things clarified?

Jai said...

Hi,

I am sharing the response that I received from JoiPhone about some questions that we all are seeking here:

1. I see it on the
plan website that Joiphone is offering 800 free minutes for India, however, it
doesn't indicate what would be the rates afterwards.

Answer:
The rates for additional minutes will are the rates listed on the
website under International Rate for a particular dial code.

2. Would there be once again a higher limit for calling minutes to
India, even if we are paying for those calls?

Answer:
There is no limit once you've gone over the initial 800 minutes since
you will be paying for the additional minutes.

So it doesn't seem that they are offering 3 cents/min. for calling India once you use up your 800 mins. In that case, we'd e paying $ 0.06 to $0.09 every minute; in my opinion not a very lucrative offer compared to other options available. Bring out those fancy calculators!

I signed up for the account last week and received the adapter today. After seeing the messages in this forum, i think i made a mistake by signing. I will be cancelling the order today. If it is not unlimited as they said on their website, they should not have mentioned that in the first place and atleast they should have mentioned that at the time of signing..

Vinay, i agree with ganesh, 800 min free + 3 cents after makes sense for people with usage above $50. in my case, i used to spend 50-60/month and biased towards joiphone as it gets the unlimited for the same amount but looks like they used unlimited for marketing purpose and fooled everyone..

Guys,

Let me clarify a few things.

1) People who signed up under the old plan will continue to get free calls to cellular numbers.

2) 800 minutes plan is proposed to be countrywide and not restricted to certain cities.

3) 800 mins plan was proposed with 3 cents per minute for all extra minutes, unlike someone said its 6-9 cents.

I hope this clarifies a few things. This was the information received from Joiphone Senior team.

Don't cancel your orders yet, wait till things clarify.

A few tips to keep your account in good condition.

1) Make calls to other numbers not just 1 number all the time. The system will catch this as dialing pattern and your account will be flagged immediately.

2) Use joiphone service to make regular USA calls and not just india calls.

Some people stated that unlimited calling should be totally unlimited, however the industry practice doesnt say so. even the large companies such as A & T and Sprint will also mention a cap on unlimited calls if abused the account gets terminated.

VOIP Guide will do it's best to reinstate your terminated accounts and also negotiate a better deal for you. This is for the exisiting and new customers.

Srikanth said...

Hi Vinay,

Just think abt this.

WE are paying 50$ amount for our monthly connection. I might use 1000,2000 or 3000 min for month. If they offer 800+0.03 min that's ok.other wise this offer is not at all useful for Indians.

How can Joiphone people ask us to restrict amount of calls i will make?

They have to change their tracking system. If they are charging 0.06$ per call, will they stop our Service for using more calls? definitely NO

Let them charge what ever i use...But why disconnecting Services on that cause..If they want to charge ,Please ask them to specify clearly abt that..

This is a not a free Service.Betamax is providing free Service. But they clearly Specified "300 min per Week". Joiphone didn't. Betamax is not providing Support. But Joi phone customer people are not talking any thing abt Billing & Plan.....What's the benifit of having Customer Support in that case.

And also Joiphone blocked my friends Service which was taken in initial offer(including cell free).NOw they activated and plan is shifted to 15$ per month. For shifting to other plan ,they charged 25$ for that with out informing. If Joiphone does this kind of things..Joiphone will Loose all new customers. not only new customers. In Voip Market they will loose their name.

IT's better if they comeup with new plan exclusively for INDIA,US&UK,which resolves Confusion.
I Suggest following things based on your update...

They have to clealy update website that

1)800 min free,there after 0.03$ per min
2)if above is correct, there should not be any disconnection of the Service for making more calls.(even it is 1000,2000,3000 or 5000 min). Let them charge what ever they commit(0.03$ per min).
3)what about non-India calls?

Otherwise no use in maintaining Joiphone Service.

Awaiting for your Comments.

Cheers,
Srikanth

I totally agree with Vijay and Rama, i guess this joiphone guy Sarat should just stop abusive behavior with joiphone customers, we are not abusive to joiphone rather you are abusing us. We already had unlimited plans for China or Canada from other companies and even free call planet in past. I really regret now that i cancelled free call planet for india and signed up joi phone for whole year. When i sent email to cancel the service as i didn't see those cell phone number, i got a reply they are still available to me. Then i replied back that also confirm that this will always really be unlimited plan for me or cancel my service and refund my entire amount without deducting a single penny for activation fee because its joiphone who is doing false marketing and abusing service but its been already three days and they didn't send me any reply....its a height of bad business practices.

In reponse to my previous comment , I had received my Adaptor today and Setup was easy.

I am currently on world unlimited widepremium MONTHLY plan (before the plan was changed to 800 M plan).

Couple of things
1.I had called dublin 353 XXX and spoke for 5 mintes and i was charged for the minutes when it was supposed to be free. I had called billing and waiting for a response.
2. As per my knowledge, JOIphone calling was supposed to unlimited to INdia but now the fact is IT IS NOT is very disappointing. They were unable to keep abide for terms atleast for a month..
3. I would sugest everybody on yearly plan cancel there service as you can't expect JOIpone to keep there words for so long
4. If JOIPHONe is providing 800 Free + $3 cents (for additonal min) for $50. Please see the below For EG:
1. Normal monthly VIOP (any provider) is : $20
2. Use all 800 minutes for $30 (i.e reducing $20 calling monthly service). Then we are calling for 3.7 cents / min and please see the below

The charge for mintes is $30 * 100 / 800 = 3.7 cents / mintes with is still good.

Summary, DON'T ASSUME THAT ANYBODY CAN PROVIDE UNLIMITED CALLING TO INDIA (EVEN IF THEY CLAIM)and JOI is no differnt.

THANKS

Hi everybody,

I am in sinking ship of joiphone. I need not to say anything about this fraud running by joiphone. Everbody knows that JOIPHONE is running which type of FRAUD. I signed up for $565 for a year and now cancelling my service with this fraud company.

I am just sending this comment to save all other people to save them from this fraud.

I also advise everybody to cancel joiphone so they get message.

And i also advise vinay to stop guy like sarath who got comission from such FRAUD and keeping other people crying. VINAY be careful to give such advise because people are really suffering from your advise rather than save money.

I got many threating email from joiphone to hold my account and now indeed they stop my account. You can imagine my situation as i use voip as my home phone and i do not have any other phone. Their cstomer service do not know what is the normal use of their service and keep telling me to send an email and they never answer any of my email in a week. So i am waiting without any phone service for their answer. I feel guilty to transfer my phone service to joiphone.

Can't we take any legal action against such fraud company?

Jai said...

My two cents to everyone concerned that I am one of you only, I was one of the early adopters of this service, my account was blocked without a single warning/mail/notification from Joiphone, and yet I would request that we should not blame (even indirectly) Vinay for this.

He has been providing very good info and deals for a long time here. He is still trying to talk to Joiphone people and who knows it might result into a good deal for all of us. Whatever, Joiphone had to do, they have already done. I still hope that someone like Vinay talking to them and making them aware of customers' response might help the better sense prevail.

Now, we all know that they are here to make money as well so if something doesn't seem to help profits then they should do their math early on, and try to handle things better way (like Sprint did about 2-3 months ago). I use Verizon and only I know how many hours I have talked to during their unlimited night hrs & weekend hrs so yes, joiphone needs to do some homework here. After all this, I would still say that wait for a while as if Vinay is able to negotiate the 800 Free + 3 cents (truly unlimited) deal then it would be a very competitive deal for all the heavy users.

Bottom line: don't make another hasty decision just now cause you realize you already made one! and yes, I do realize that I already made one, though, in this case I am waiting it out for next couple days to see if Joiphone folks recognize this opportunity in disguise and cash in on it... otherwise, I'd feel that I just lost about hundred bucks on a night of heavy drinking... unfortunately, I would not recall having any fun either!

Well i have posted several comments on this particular blog, some published and largely unpublished or shall i say censored.

In retrospect any new offer sounds attractive and when it says unlimited we generally assume it is unlimited, though even after paying $50 what most of us got was humiliation at the hands of joiphone and people like sharat who became agents for joiphone and advice any one who would listen to not make any calls to India to avoid abuse...

But overall i can say there are lessons learnt, firstly apart from vonage most of the Voip guys are in for quick buck and nobody is really interested in making loyal customers... i feel pity, but thats how this market is at this moment..

Secondly vinay is not to be blamed, in fact i guess this blog was the reason probably joiphone got a lot of consumers and also realized that they can not afford to give unlimited calling to India.. we all took this service coz it was recommended here, but nevertheless the lure of unlimited india calls is such that most of us would still have taken it irrespective of the recommendation, or even if we heard about it from friends or even an ad online.. though the advantage is we actually have vinay who can get our concerns through and can keep us updated what went wrong or whats in the kitty for future...

The moment i decided to cancel joiphone most of my anger was directed towards this blog and vinay, though after a lot of thought i realize that at least in vinay all of us have hope and he actually tells us whats going on.. which joiphone's customer service would never tell, as they seem to be telling different people different stories...

To cut a long story short, lets thank vinay and hope he can bring better deals and news for us in future and can help all those guys who have been unfairly blocked by joiphone.

lets not get carried away now or in future and only take those deals after thorough introspection and analysis.

What joi phone did was totally immoral or rather dirty business practice. I don't know why they were not sued yet for false advertisement. Joi Phone is advertising as "Unlimited Calling Within USA and to 70 Countries and 100 Destinations Worldwide For Free!” I think they need to use word limited instead of unlimited in there advertisement. If they are using word Unlimited for calling plan then there should be no limit. They had blocked my account without any notification. Reason they have given me is that I was not calling in limit. Joi Phone set this limits and in their advertisement they call it unlimited. Anyone can suggest me if I can sue them from California for false advertisement or is there any organization who can file law suit in behalf all customers. It’s about time we should get together and teach them lesson. For further discusson I can be reached via email rogergill@sbcglobal.net

Hi all,

This is krishna and after receiving a warning email about execessive usage I have been contacting Joiphone to cancel my service and it is almost 10 days since I have requested them and I called them 3 times and everytime they are asking me to email only for cancellation. Is anyone on the same boat. I am planning to file a dispute with credit card and I would like to know if that is a good option or not. If any one was sucessful in cancelling the service please let us know the procedure.

Thanks.

For those whose service is blocked/cancelled, are they receiving 100% money back or should go through the credit card dispute.

I sent an email to their billing to cancel the service and no response in a week and phone customer service have no idea when they will respond to email.

HI,
This joiphone service is a complete FRAUD... We all should spread this word so that people will know about this service when choosing a VOIP.

After 3-4 emails to cancel my service, i received the return adapter email with RMA# and sent the adapter back. but still i didnot have the money back to my credit card. I am sure that there will be some catch and they may not credit back the full refund..
cheaters...
friends beware of this joiphone service.....

just like rest of u i have been deceived by joiphone. they blocked my phone after a week and at the end of month they charnged my credit card for another month even though all this time my phone was blocked. I called them to get the refund they told me our billing department is closed at this time please call back tomorrow. so im going to call tomorrow and see what happens. I read at another blog they are very hesitant at giving refund. If they do not give me a refund i will contact my credit card and complain to FTC.

JOIPHONE SCAM!! JOIPHONE RIPOFFS!! said...

Hahaha! 721 minutes I use for In-State local & State-to-State calling within USA only for month of November. I try today calling to check messages on my JoiPhone account and NO DIAL TONE on both my 2 lines. I thinks it is storm, its raining and windy so phone service interrupted. NO its not!!!!!

I then later same morning get email from JoiPhone stating that I am illegally abusing expensive hardware system and violate Terms of Service (TOS).

I am very concerned, where is TOS to be read on JoiPhone website? I can't find, nor was ever given to me when I sign up for 2 years service. So I am logged into my account and from last month usage of 721 minutes total call time with 129 call events, I calculate average call time it is 24 minutes per day, this is, according to JoiPhone Customer Disservice Rep that I am excessive abuser of system?!!! What did I do to these people to be treated like dirt except pay over $500.00 for 2 year, I am 1 month from end of 1st year contract (2nd year is free), each month is average 600-800 minutes total calling time!? It reads me from email they will force me to 'upgrade' to JoiPhone Business Plan for $24.00 per month more per line, this from residential $14.95 per line per month already I am paying.

Refund states I now get only $14.95 in return (because 2nd year is free, it is not refundable as prorated expense, which is criminal because this big detail is not mentioned anywhere in agreement when I pays for 2 years in advance) Now for allegedly causing illegal abuse that I am accused and punished for, I am banned from system and my account is in BLOCKED STATUS! No more calling by me unless I pay $24.95 per month extra per line, according to JoiPhone. This is 'Bait & Switch' and illegal in every state.

Now I am thinking, what could I have done wrong?? Is 24 minutes per day considered ABUSIVE? That is INSANE to treat long-time customers at end of 1st year like this, terminate contract when FREE YEAR is about to begin.

Moments ago, I am having just called with my Sprint cell phone to JoiPhone (without residential phone now) and waiting on hold for 52 minutes before representative finally answer, he then is not very nice person to me, and tells me all messages I trying to access have been blocked until I pay $49.90 Upgrade, because local or long-distance calls made inside US cannot exceed "Normal Residential Usage patterns." But what is considered normal usage, but he cannot tell me this hidden detail and when I ask to speak with Supervisor, he says this man is not in office today. I ask for Sales Manager and representative suddenly hangs up.

What did I get from this, I now very angry, very upset because I feel JoiPhone is CRIMINAL SCAM outfit. Service was never very good and often Linksys Router which I bought from them often needed reboot, sometimes 10 times per day. But for price, I feel I could live with small hassles of faulty VoIP router. But now I see is much more than router is faulty, ENTIRE COMPANY IS FAULTY!!

BUYER BEWARE, JOIPHONE SCAM!! This turning out for me to be the most terrible company I have ever witnessed. I am filing with BBB, FCC, and perhaps will talk to my friend who is Lawyer in FL, he says will help anytime, so happy to drag JoiPhone into small claims court and sue for reinstatement or investigative probe into potential criminal business. STAY AWAY FROM JOIPHONE AT ALL COSTS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. I AM SORRY FOR BEING SUCKER, GOOD DEAL TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE AFTER ALL. TERMINATE ACCOUNT BY END OF PAID YEAR, FREE YEAR SERVICE NEVER COMES BECAUSE 24 MINUTES LOCAL CALLING PER DAY IS CONSIDERED ABUSE OF TOS!?!?!

Whosoever heard of such nonsense?? But I will get revenge in court of law and watching JoiPhone burn will now be my greatest pleasure. I am sucker for good deal bargains no more. :(

Well guyz Hi again..

Just now i spoke to the biling department..

after 7 dayz of endless struggle..

Now all they say is that ur account is already cancelled..the only thing u have to do is to send the adapter back...
And when i asked them..So are u gonna refund my money for the initial..testphase{1st month} then she said u have to contact the billing department for that.

W***k.... I told her tat isnt this billing department?tat i called..then she fumbled and said that No sir this is a lowlevel billing department..U have to contact a high level billing department...Argggggggggg...
Okay then i asked her to connect me to the high level billing department..
NOW SHE SAID HIGH LEVEL BILLING DEPARTMENT ONLY HANDLES EMAILS...

wat guyz ?? wat are these people trying to do???

I am returning my adapter today..god knows if i get my refund back or not...

Screw this joiphone untill they get joi to their lives...

I posted before that I am going to call to get a refund because they charged my credit card while my account was blocked and even after charging it is still blocked. they told me i have to email even though i was talking to someone in billing department. I told him I did email you guys and you havent responded he said im sorry sir but you will have to wait for response. I said I am talking to you in billing deparment why cant you give me a refund. He said this is not my department. Then I said can i talk to a supervisor he said NO you can not. so now im gonna have to call up my credit card company and dispute the payment. Please do not sign up for Joiphone. They are a scam to get your intial payment or anyother payments they can get.

I have sign up with JoiPhone on Nov 25th but I haven't recieved my equipment yet. Whenever I tried to customer support they said everything is fine and we will ship your kit very soon.
They charge $14.95 for the shipping and its around more than 11 days and I have not recieved shipment from JoiPhone.
I think this is a BOGUS COMPANY and they are doing the sale as SUNROCKET did.

joi phone people are cheaters and liers.they dont bring joy to lifes but give pain for nothing.its better to get blocked by them bcuse i dint get blocked but they took for this month $111.80 from my account.i wrote them email as they charged me twice this month but no response from them till now.unluckly mine is debit card.i curse these cheaters.go to hell joi phone.

Anonymous said...

Guys,

i feel the pain too. But here is a suggestion for the existing customers whose service is not disconnected. Make some non- free calls here and there and make sure your a/c bal is not 0.00 . I think this makes them not to disconnect ur service.
it seems they charged $118 from the above poster. Its insane. Did u chk ur statement online? why u were charged that much? did u make any non-free calls?

Also I've been charged for calling australia 0.14 per min. Even though my plan joiphone world premium still shows australia in free list. wired..

Guys,

This is krishna and I had already posted about my problem couple of times in this page. I took a yearly plan and paid $565.25 and they blocked me after asking them to cancel the service after 10 days of placing a order. Even though I have been using the service for almost 1 hour per day they blocked me without any notice. I filed a dispute with Credit card but never know whats going to happen.

In the above posts Roger mentioned to team up so that we can sue JoiPhone. Lets form a group and sue this JOIPHONE for wrong advertisements and also cheating on us for 30 day risk free money back gurantee and for saying no contracts to the service. If so please post in the group or send the email to roger. you can find his email id from the above posts also.

Thanks,
Krishna.

I have just been victimized by JoiPhone as well. Same issues, they take all your money up front, then do not honor the 30 day money back guarantee. I never even got the ATA to use the service!

So far, not only has the company refused to give me my money back even though I never used the service, they have also committed credit card fraud by adding another $800.00 worth of charges to me without my permission because they didnt like the fact that I sent them a lot of emails about their failure to give me my money back.

I am also building out the discussion forum on http://www.dslreports.com/forum/cover,3028

There are links to discussion threads all over the net collected on this forum, as well as a great place to post your reviews of the company.

I have also registered the domain www.joiphonesucks.com, which I will be building out over the coming weeks.

I have filed formal complaints with the BBB regarding this company and it's parent company, and I encourage each of you to do the same.

Additional options include filing disputes with your credit card company, and sending formal complaints to the Attorney General's offices in FL and GA.

I am also more than willing to participate in any lawsuits planned or underway.

Consumers fight back! JoiPhone is as corrupt as it gets!

mnz said...

mpatrick14 I cant wait for the website you are building. I would like to visit and contribute to expose joiphone. I posted on this blog how they took my money. Joiphone sucks everybody out there should complain.

Pratab said...

I signed up for their 2-year promotion and then I cancelled it within a week when they told me it will take few weeks for them to send me the ATA device. It has been over two months and they have not refunded the money yet. Every time I call customer support they tell me they are creating a ticket and sending it to accounting but nothing seems to happen. Mine might be a unique case, but be aware of my experience.

I am not sure why so many complaints. I have used JoiPhone to call US, UK and India. I pay $39.95. I even bought another plan and sent it to my mom in India.
I do not call India more then 800 minutes a month (specialy now that I can call my mom unlimited for free), and even if I did and they charge me per minute...big deal I am getting the best deal online. JoiPhone offered us something no other company did, eventhough they learned the hard way about usage to countries like India, they adopeted their offer, but still maintained the offer, and by the way no one even mantioned the call qaulity, nor talk about all the features that other cmpanies charge for and JoiPhone offer for free.... so Stop complainig and say thank you to Vinay for finding and negoatiating on our behalf!

every one...THANK-YOU-VINAY!!!

Hi,

I just called the customer support of joiphone and they said even the 39.95 plan does not entitle me to make unlimited call to India. I get only 800 minutes is what he told me. Is there a service that allows me to make unlimited calls to a landline/mobile phone in India. I am shelling about a 100 bucks every month to call India. Most of the people I call, do not have a broadband connection at home and so the option of Vonage is ruled out. Any help in this regard is appreciated.

Thanks,
Vivek

I've had pretty good service so far. My only problem is that my custom music on hold no longer works. I'm having a hard time logging on to their website to even access my account. The joiphone website seems to be down more than up.

Hi,
There is another company called teleblend has the same offer like joiphone. they are charging same 49.95/month.the website is www.teleblend.com.
i guess now the VOIP companies started include INDIA as a free calling country and as well as they want to make money too, bcoz we r spending lots of money on international calling.
So guys dont be rush and you will see lots of cheaper product like that soon.
