Alright. I have gone through all the comments lately about VOIP Guide loosing that "old touch" of being the most unique FREE VOIP blog. Finally decided to post a hack to make free international calls. This should work for India as well. I didnt test it. I hope the large reader base here would test and post the results.
Thanks to Sriram V who sent me the hack. Although, I didnt post it last time. Here you go now. This Jaxtr hack is completed unedited, am sure Sriram would be around to give you nominal support if you need any.
1) Register a new account at jaxtr with ur mobile mumber (landline will do, i believe!!).
2) You get 100 jax for just registering.
3) Ask your friends to call you thru this account till you have no jaxtr remaining.
4) Goto your add/remove phone settings. remove your number. (yeah, remove it)
5) now register a new jaxtr account with another email id.
6) give your number here (yes, the removed one!). jaxtr wont tell you that this number is already in use!! (actually this is the main hack)
7) give this account id to ur friends
8) do this as many times you want!!
9) happy calling.. :-)
As I already said, i can't promise if the hack works or not. You guys test the hack and post your results under comments.

ok..the 1st time, I had tried a landline number, so it didn't work. But it does work for cell phone numbers...hoooray.Moreover, if you have free long distance thru a landline, you can create new accounts through jaxtr using your cell phone, then use your landline to dial the 'jaxtr virtual numbers', you can send them a email or free text message using the text service at jaxtr, with that numbers and they can dial you.
Alas, the dream ends!....
for cell phone, now I am getting...Sorry, but for security reasons this phone number cannot be activated at the moment. Please click here to contact our customer service department to resolve this issue.
thanks viny for this great tip.it will work three times only that mean for only three new accounts for the same number after that it will tell you to contact customer service.then after a month you can use it again the same way for those three account that you open.just keep them handi.
i think i understood the first step but what do u mean by make ur friends make calls to u through this account?? r they suppose to be member of jaxtr?or is it me who shall call them with this account?

I imply if you are in india and you want somebody in us to call u, you can create your account and all that in india, then enter the us person's number in the widget on the site so they call you at your indian phone number. While you are making the connection, disconnect it...yes that is right. Now jaxtr will give you a virtual US number which your friend in US can dial to reach your india number from their US phone.
a couple thing:
1. in many countries you can add any extra digit to your phone number when you enter it in the widget and get 10 callbacks one for each extra digit.
2. if you want a static number in the USA that forward to you via jaxtr you can set that up by using ringbranch. just make sure you have ringbranch set to provide your ringbranch number as caller ID. than set it to forward to the number provided by jaxtr when your ringbranch number is entered into the widget. this same technique also works with jangl, rebtel, and jajah direct.
p.s. godmode..i like this post...keep coming with hack/workaround posts.
Exactly the extra digit hack was used in talkster hack which we posted some time back.

does anyone know a service (like grandcentral) where i can get a telephone number which can forward to either a U.S. OR international phone number?
I wouldn't recommend this hack. It worked for a few times and then I got a security alert. When I contacted support I found out my number had been banned.

I would like to clarify some common doubts and errors
1) You need to remove ur phone number from the previous account before using it in ur nxt account.
2) It should work for landlines also. I hv tried it for US landline.
3) You can switch ur phone number between any number of accounts u want. Their policy wont restrict u doing so. :-)
4) Non members of jaxtr can also use this service. But calling between non-members is not possible.
5) The extra digit trick works in jaxtr also. It works fine for Philippines, Singapore and some other countries.
Again, we are trying hard to bring out some more hacks in the near future.

Wow if this is a hack i must be hacker coz i had thought about it tried it many a times before.Japan worked well for my friend but i couldn't get it right to call Australia.I mean the jaxtr thing. Any idea why?? And besides the thing seems to work fine at night where as at day time i can't get through the call!! Is it to do with anything with my internet connection?? i am sure it is correct me if i am wrong.
Jaxtr is blocked in UAE.

I got Jaxtr through proxy from UAE.
But to call India or from India; Jaxtr don't have local nos. either in India or UAE. We get a USA no. to which the charges are more than direct international calls.

viney, i tryed exactly what u wrote. but no way. i cant understand anything, why do we need two accounts. and which account will we use? i tryed to call Bangladesh. but i did not get connection. but got information that there was a call from computer.
i called in Russia's mobile number. i got that connection.

Can any voipguide reader post any working proxies in UAE to make calls through Jaxtr.
My number got banned using this hack. Now I can't make or receive jaxtr calls at all. :( Anyone know how I can get my number unbanned? This sucks.

I am new to your blog. I do understand that one can use icall to call from India to US/Canada. But jaxtr it seems we can call from US to India? Am I Right? Secondly,
- I registered with jaxtr.
- I addedd skype phone number for verying it.
- I received a call and it said my number has been activated with jaxtr.
- Next it asked me to invite my friends and gave me options for Yahoo, Hotmail and Gmail. I logged in through one id (yes actual mail id and password) and it showed me all my contacts on the screen. It also showed me who is currently using jaxtr.
- On the right hand side it says "Call to get One" number and I clicked on one of them. Then I selected "Call Me". It asked for my phone number. I gave my phone number. Then it started calling. I didnt know what was going on and so I disconnected it.
Could you/someone please explain in detail on how to use jaxtr to call India from US with the hack?

UAE is another story! This rich country is sucking the rest of the oil-consuming world dry and the parasites have a stranglehold on the telecommunications industry, too! Why? How much money are they going to save? A bunch of losers, if I may say so. I hope this country learns from Bahrain and Kuwait and come out into the 21st century! What a bunch of childish whiners!

hi...i used 2 make free calls worldwide using jaxtr from india..but now this free calling service is not available in jaxtr.please find out a solution 2 make free calls through any other site from India.
I am the video maker of that hack, the extra digit. I could not believe that no one ever discovered that HACK.
and also I have been doing this 3 accounts + grand central so maybe 100 accounts = 1000 free minutes.
jaxtr's version is now changed...i use 2 make free calls before but now i am not able to make free calls through the new verion..plzz can some one help me out..plz direct me how 2 use the new version of jaxtr to make free calls..
