Thanks to Murtaza, a regular reader and betamax reseller from Egypt shared a new VOIP provider InterVOIP. InterVOIP looks like another betamax product however it beats all other competitor betamax services such as voipcheap, dialnow, nonoh, voipraider etc when it comes to cheap international calls.
Although if you are expecting InterVOIP to provider free international calls, you would be disappointed. Intervoip doesnt provider free calls to any destination, however their rates are definately very competitive, I would say cheapest calling rates.
Lets consider Cheapest international call to India just costs about 1.5 cents (with VAT, 1.7 cents) per minute on InterVOIP. If you know any VOIP provider offering anything better, do let us know. As far as my knowledge goes, this is the best and most cheapest international calling rate to India.
You can also make calls via Access Numbers, however access numbers are only available in about 9 countries which doesn't include USA and Canada. However Intervoip offers PC to Phone, Phone to Phone. Most importantly they have full support for SIP. You can either use Mobile VOIP, SIP Phone, VOIP ATA or IP phone.

Outbound proxy server : leave empty
Account name : your InterVoip username
Password : your InterVoip password

Dear, betamex close teh online system of recharging the account, and now it is costing through the resellers, like i need 10 euro balance, i have to pay 2-3 euro for online charges. i don't know why betamex did this, but some other services avaialbe in uk and europe, not in middle east. so no matter its cost for me to call to pakistan or india, this is high cost. if you have some solution of online payment system post the blog or mail me on azizulhaq2001@yahoo.com

Rate is only 8 cents per minute; but crystal clear voice and without lag. you will feel same as you are calling through phone. lot of resellers are also available for purchase or you can contact them through the website.
None of the payment options are working for InterVoip. Pay pal option is removed which was there earlier. Credit card and debit card is also not working. Every time it says not allowed.

the switzerland access number is not working still. saturday the access number was 0435269924 and sunday they have changed the number to 0435269925. but none of the number is working. all the times the number is busy. i have tried from mobile and landline also. but the same issue is there. anyone from switzerland have faced the issue?

I've got reply from intervoip helpdesk and told me that they are resolving the payment options (maybe) in the future. And currently they are accepting only the options which are displaying in our 'Buy Credits' page. There is no other way, they say. May be you can contact resellers (at any region) to buy credits or refill ur account

gr8 find mate, call to india is just 1 cent wow. Eventually i dont believe these new sites as the go off anytime thts why i ried payment option "pay by Phone" it tooks 1.30 en got 1.04 top up. And all this happens in just 2 minutes. Awesome find thnks again buddy

I am still having problems with buying credit..I live in the UK..Firstly I tried my visa card which did not work..I tried paypal and moneybookers and it keeps asking me to verify my phone number..very annoying.
gyandeep u hv to verify ur mobile number in invoice details, u give ur number their in the proper format, they will send u a sms in ur mobile, and then give the verification number in the in the next step.

I tried their site from Germany - they definitely have problems with payment. Sometimes the Paypal logo shows up on the "Buy credits" page but when I tried to use it, it does not work. Then I tried to buy credit with Mastercard but it does not work either (after 3 unsuccessful tries you are not allowed any more tries for the day). Their Customer Care asked me try the other options. Hope they fix their problems soon.

As expected today I've seen intervoip has increase 5 cents more on their prices. I just checked the rate calculator and earlier it shows 1 euro cent through SIP, but today it shows 1.5 euro cent.
But still in my accounts page it deducts only 1 cent per minute. May be they will gonna raise from tomorrow.

Hi everybody regarding comments for Intervoip calling to India at cheapest rates there is no doubt that at present it is the cheapest provider uptill yesterday it was costing only 0.01 euro cent per minute now they have increased their prices for landline numbers now they are charging 0.015 euro cent and for mobile it is 0.010 euro cent but surprisingly when I talked 17 minutes to India on mobile they charged me 0.34 euro cents this means they are charging 0.02 euro cents per minute to mobile hope these problem they solve quickly as not to loose customers from their site as now a days competition is very much.
and regarding payment problems yes they are having problems in their servers for receiving payments I dont know why betamax is not receiving payments from Same credit card or paypal account which is already registered with their other servers like voipcheap, voipbuster, webcalldirect, nonoh, voipraider and many more. Hope in future they open their servers for receiving payments from same credit cards

To Land Line - 1.5 Euro Cents
To Mobile - 1 Euro Cent
So calls to Mobile phones are cheaper. :)
So intervoip changed landline rate from 1 ct/min to 1.5ct/min. Why on the earth rate to india offered don't remain stable by even a single provider? I mean only the cheapest rates.
Betamax is notorious..no doubt but at least cheaper than others... but anything stable would help. Hope to see some improvement in coming months.

Finally I have some credit in my intervoip account. I gave up on paying it through my visa card, paypal or moneybookers. I just got in contact with a UK voip reseller and he topped up my account within 15 mins of my payment. I transferred him £9 through net banking and he bought me 10 Euro credit. I have used it for total 54 mins call yesterday and its rightly debiting 1 Euro cent per min so far. Hope the rates remain same for India.
Also, I know a lot of people have problem with Betamax voip services, but I have used them for more than six motnhs, I have never had any problem except their rate flucatuation. I guess I have been lucky.

Happy to note that Intervoip is just great. Though many of our friends expressed their difficulty in making the payment, Praveen Reddy & someone else said that they paid thru Visa card without any hassle. But the payment options shown on the screen are (1) Regular Bank transfer ( This is a lengthy process & it takes a lot of time.) (2)Western Union ( This also is not convenient) (3)Reseller ( This is nothing but a rip-off as they are charging heavily) (4) Redeem Voucher ( Yet another head-ache). Therefore friends, could you kindly advise the steps you followed to make the payment with your Visa card. ?

I put a credit of 10 Euro also. But when I tried to make calls to India from Here it saying that, - SORRY YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO MAKE THIS CALL. Why it is like that?

You are correct! INTERVOIP is blocked here in UAE since the last 4 days. However we could login/create new user by using their softphone. The problem is while we are making payments only. There are no common payment options are there. PAYPAL, MONEYBOOKERS, CREDIT CARD etc...even UKash also not there. I don't know why they are removing all these useful items from their site. Hi Guys, I have been using Betamax services from UAE for almost 2 years now. I was able to recharge my account using paypal account but they blocked this service almost 6 months back. Now the only option to recharge from UAE is the local resellers or Online resellers, you can use either paypal or moneybookers to pay online resellers and it takes no time at all and you can do it from your laptop.
The cheapest service from UAE right now is Intervoip, just ten days back it they were charging only 1 euro cents/min for mobile and 1.5 euro cents/min for landlines, but now they increased their charges twice in one week and now the the charges are 2 E cents/min for mobile and 2.5 E cents/min for landlines. But still they are the cheapest.
Intervoip from UAE is working fine at present, but Iam not able to use voip sip phone with this service. If anyone is able to use SIP phone from UAE please let me know.

Intervoip has raised the landline rate to 2.5 Euro Cents now in the typical Betamax style. It seems they have fixed their Mastercard problem. You can also pay via Paypal if you use the resellers option and choose "voicetradingarikan".

1) search for hotspot sheild in download.com.
2) download and install the program
3)run the hotspot sheild program and then run the intervoip..

Thanks arun i tried downloading hotspot sheild from download.com but smart etisalat have apparently even blocked that site. so the application is not able to connect. Hence im unable to use intervoip too. My intervoip showed a connection failure error too starting today afternoon. Last night it was fine. It might just be soemthing with the internet connectivity in the UAE which does get disturbed every other day so i'll wait and see. Meanwhile any suggestions.

I was using www.mediaringtalk.com before this.. voice clarity was excellent.. but they increased rates from some countries to india, from 85 paise to 3 Rs per minute.. so i had to switch..
