DukaDial DukaBar DukaUS Jaduka VOIP Services Closed Down

One of the most surprising move by Jaduka, they closed down all their Jadula Labs VOIP applications. Earthcaller was closed a few months which used to offer free international calls to USA. Now Dukadial, DukaBar & DukaUS has been closed down.

Thanks to Sidhartha Kumar for sharing the news with us. I wonder what made Jaduka closed down these VOIP applications. I know its hard to run these free VOIP , free conference calls services off your network without being able to monetise them. However, I have never seen an attempt by Jaduka to actually monetise these VOIP services. They could have easily inserted audio ads for DukaDial, Earthcaller and DukaUS conference service.

Jaduka in fact developed a few really great applications such as Credit card PIN verifications via Jaduka API. The banks using this application can help customers verify each credit card transaction via phone. Whenever you make a purchase using your credit card, the request is made to Jaduka API which reads your mobile number and places a call to you before authorising the credit card purchase. It will ask you to confirm the transaction. Once confirmed the credit card transaction goes through. This way banks can avoid credit card fraud.

I wonder if these Voice based API will now be open for enterprise users only and Jaduka will most likely focus on Enterprise VOIP or Hosted VOIP business where Jajah has been very successful.

If you visit Jaduka Labs homepage, you will notice the following note:

Effective July 2, 2009, Jaduka Labs has been discontinued. Jaduka Labs was launched in 2008 and tens of thousands of Internet users joined with us to experience the effectiveness of our API for implementing new voice and messaging services.
We offered a variety of free applications built on the Jaduka API, including dukaDIAL, dukaBAR and earthCALLER that demonstrated easy-to-use and efficient ways of enhancing personal and business communications. As a result, Jaduka was able to refine the performance of our API and put into production a wide range of business services now available through Jaduka partners and resellers.
After July 2, 2009 you will no longer be able to access your Labs account. At Jaduka, we respect your privacy. To protect your privacy, your Jaduka Labs account information has been removed from our servers. We thank you for your participation.

This ends another VOIP Application Service Provider for retail users. Now who's next?

Hi Vinay,

Please also note -Yupeephone( www.yupeephone.com) has been stoped Unlimited india call plan, and now they are offer Family plan for 3000min/$39.9. which is expensive than Jumblo or Action.

I suggest to every one who are using Yupeenphone service don't recharge your account.

Thanks

Tanweer

The announcement that these services would be shut down first appeared on June 25, which was the same day Google Voice announced they would be sending out invites again. Coincidence?

Thanks, Tanweer.

Sad, indeed. I used to use Earthcaller for a long time to call within N.America until I switched to Skype.

When you accuse someone of abuse, you should atleast have the courage of using your username. Hiding behind anonymous, make you a looser in the first place.

Secondly, abusers are everywhere in the world. I agree that most free VOIP services are abused. If a VOIP provider, does not understand how to control this abuse they are exposing themselves in all corners of the world.

I personally do not like to call names or stereotype anyone based on his race/origin/colour. I am sorry but your racist remarks spoil your own comment.

Remember, Respect comes with respect, so start respecting people. Anger is to be presented in a proper way.

Hope it makes you think logically and next time, have guts to show your identity.

First of all you are wrong in guessing this blog is read mostly by Indians. You dont know the facts so you better keep your mouth shut.

Testing the functionality of VOIP phone system is what i do best. While testing i find certain loopholes which i like to publicly disclose. Trust me VOIP providers like Tpad have sent me appreciation emails for finding out loopholes in their system which they could fix it.

Now giving your knowledge to everybody is a crime? Did i tell people to snatch someone's credit card and use it.

Let me guess, the thing is you were one of those guys who wanted to abuse the system but since i gave it out loud on this blog, scumbags like you couldn't abuse the system coz VOIP Providers fix those errors.

Thats the reason, VOIP Providers today ask for testing their systems before they go live. They know i can break their system which their engineers couldn't.

if you think you are saint, why don't you shell out some money and go for paid service rather than messing here for free providers?

Hi Anonymous,

I agree with everyone else on this blog that you are being arrogant and racist for no apparent reason. The fact that you don't like this blog is no reason for you to offend all its readers. As many other people who commented here, I am not an Indian, I am writing this comment from Canada, and I don't agree that Indian people or any other people are thieves.
If providers give out free offers they are for everyone to use. They are not only for YOU or YOUR friends or YOUR family, they are for everyone. All Vinay does is to offer FREE PUBLICITY for these companies by sharing their offers on his blog. If the companies can no longer provide the service for free they go out of business or change their offerings. YOU are in no way more entitled to use the FREE service than anyone else on this world.
If Vinay has given out information on how to circumvent the restrictions put in place by these providers this is not necessarily theft and certainly not illegal in some countries. It is illegal in USA but in other places on Earth, which do not have laws in place to regulate such activity, using Vinay's ideas is perfectly fine. He provides the knowledge, it is up to you to decide how to use it.
Now, I suggest you go on a vacation in India or Brazil or some other place where you will see how the people you offend live. Then you can experience their culture and educate yourself so you don't make racist comments like this one in the future. I believe that people like you are creating a vary bad image for the USA, of ignorant, uneducated and aggressive nation.

He he he!!! What a retard this anonymous is. BTW do you live in Idaho? Do you know Internet security and how much money companies spend on secuirty testing?
This is advanced world and companies need to be ultra secure and intelligent. Most VSPs come with dumb business model and get tossed in few months, not because of us but because of their dumb ideas and insecure model.

I suspect you ran that JADUKA DUKAAN for sometimes and now smoking weed. Dude, first get a life and enroll in some school. We will talk after 10 years from now.

Thanks,
Umesh

Hi Anonymous with a biased view,
I am of Indian origin in the US. FYI - I found out about many paid VOIP providers thro' this blog and since have spent a decent amount of money on paid VOIP providers. If a VOIP provider brings out a service for free, they do not care about the origin of people using the service. If they are concerned about abuse getting out of hand, they need to have abuse prevention policies.
Think your comments are way off-target.
thanks....
