Its been a while since Betamax launched a new VOIP Provider but finally it happened. Betamax has been busy working on the Dellmont Sarl brand to push VOIP services. Today, we are looking at a new VOIP service which offers the best calling rates to India.
Gone are the days when actionvoip and rynga were the best and cheapest VOIP services to call india. They slowly increased their rates making them as good as any other cheap international call providers.
However now, a new VOIP service by Dellmont Sarl called PowerVoip.com is all out to start the price war once again. With PowerVoip, you can call India Landline and Mobile for only $0.015/min which is great. This rate is only applicable for PC to Phone calling. When you call using Phone to Phone, Powervoip will charge for both destinations.
Like other dellmont sarl voip services, Powervoip also offers full support for SIP.
Powervoip.com SIP details:
SIP port : 5060
Registrar : sip.powervoip.com
Proxy server : sip.powervoip.com
Outbound proxy server : leave empty
Account name : your PowerVoip username
Password : your PowerVoip password
Display name/number : your PowerVoip username or voipnumber
Stunserver (option) : stun.powervoip.com
Alternatively you can also use powervoip via sms or local access numbers. Powervoip local access numbers are available in multiple countries.
For making calls using PowerVoip, you need to either setup their SIP settings in X-lite or any other SIP softphone or simple Download Powervoip softphone from this link.
Always remember, when you are dealing with Betamax/Dellmont Sarl, its always better to first test powervoip service with minimal credit.
Do let us know your feedback on Powervoip.

I dont know if you have review the rates from Rynga and Jumblo or not, they are cheap compare to Powervoip
JUMBLO is still cheaper than powervoip
what about the connection fees they mention 0.039 US $ ??
PowerVoip is *not* the cheapest provider - infact, they charge a $0.039 connection fee, so if you make a lot of short calls, it quickly adds up making it quite expensive compared to others.
Here's my list of current competitive landline/mobile prices to India (prices in EUR):
mywebcalls - 0.016-0.068 / 0.016
ActionVoip - 0.014 / 0.014
Pingo* - 0.014 / 0.014
Jumblo - 0.015 / 0.012
uVOIPit - 0.013 / 0.011
youtring - 0.013 / 0.010
Nymgo - 0.012-0.017 / 0.009
Rynga - 0.010 / 0.009
* Not inclusive of additional 0.73 EUR (0.98 USD) monthly maintanance fee.
Btw, Pingo is currently running an offer using COUPON CODE "onebuck". For this offer, effective call rate to India is 0.29 EU¢!! (0.39US¢)
Please note that some providers offer free calls (not to India ofc, but US, UK, AU etc) so it might make sense going for a slightly costlier provider if you regularly call "free" countries as well.
Note2: Actual cost per call will vary depending on the exchange rate at time of buying.

PS: Vinay, please do try to keep up - you've been very slow with VoIP deals lately. I know you're all satisfied and stuff with Localphone ;), but the rest of us are always on the lookout for the cheapest deal. :) Hope you bring us some fresh news soon and continue to keep us updated like you did in the old days!
wrong info..check rynga website. It still offers slightly lower rates than powervoip
it also has connection fee 0f 0.039 , which was no where on site
i had 2 call drops one after 6 minutes and one after 8 minutes.
so, not at all a good deal.
you should have refereedsh to connectivity fee .
i m out of the betamax and dalmont sarl as they launches a new brand every 15 days. its a clear to me and many they are a popular scam and known to hike rate every week. Even actinvoip when i joined had 0.01 cent and then hiked to 0.019 seems a little hike but paying double what i signed for. Then i moved to jumblo again rate hike scam and fair use policy scam which charges for calls which should be free in the plan. Moving to rynga for 120 freeday and 300 minutes weekly free minutes was my worst move that i regret, i m getting charged for every single call that should be free and has forced me not to believe these liers. I have never recieved a single reply from customer service.
WE ARE OUT OF BETAMAX/// YOU WANT TO GIVE IT A TRY GO AHEAD AND TRY ///
dont use them, they have a conncetion fee $0.036
I tried many Betamax products,I too have the same price increase complain. Finally sticked to rebtel since a while as they introduced skype calling and could use them from iphone too after adding the contact(rebtel buddy) to skype contact list...
Hey What are you telling! I have just re-checked. Rynga and action VoIP are still the cheapest. They charge $0.013/min (excluding VAT) $ 0.016(including VAT)
But powervoip charges $0.015/min (excluding VAT) $ 0.017(including VAT) plus 0.039 US Dollar connection fee..
So, Rynga and Action VoIP are stil the best
Giz could you explain the rebtel and skype integration ?
Nymgo is still cheaper than powervoip and its reliable
@Anonymous - Rebtel had introduced skype calling,visit - http://blog.rebtel.com/2009/12/03/rebtel-introduces-computer-calls/
and once you have incoming call to skype from rebtel add that rebtel buddy to your skype contact list and from next time you can call directly from skype,no need to visit rebtel page and it costs 1.8 USD (rebtel price to India)
Getting calls from from unknown numbers? track it down on SMSdaak.in
i am using voipgain . it always charged 0.039Eu as a connection fee. did any one knows i will charge 1st minit or every per minite ?
i had 2 call drops one after 6 minutes and one after 8 minutes.
so, not at all a good deal
@Anonymous You can connect your Skype account to your Rebtel account. Just as Rebtel provides you with a unique local number for each of your contacts, it will provide you will a unique Skype contact name for each of your contacts. When you initiate free Skype-to-Skype calls to one of these contacts, Rebtel calls the international number for the contact (add this rebtel buddy to your skype contact list). This way you don't use your cell phone minutes
I am also out of the betamax service...worst at all..I am satisfied with localphone account though some days they have some problems regarding the connectivity to INDIA BSNL serrvices :)....
After long search I found powervoip.com very cheap for Pakistan & India Landline/Mobile but really It is bad experience with this service.
I want share my experience with all of you as you people save yourself from their fraud service.
1. They charge you connection fee $0.39 for every single call attended or not attended, even if you ring and your friend doesn't attend your call, you will be charged for connection fee. In my account all un-attended calls shows call duration 00.00 but they have charged $ 0.39 as connection fees.
2. Some time when you dial number you will hear that ring is passing but actually not ringing that number (I confirmed from my friends)and you will be again charged for connection fees.
3. You cannot talk more than 10 minutes for a single call, system will disconnect your call after 10 minutes as you can dial that number again as powervoip.com can charge you again connection fees.
4. Customer support is very poor, I discussed my this issue with Customer support by submitting ticket three times they always send exactly same automated computer generated following reply:
Dear Customer,
We will only charge for a call when we are charged for a call ourselves. Call charges take effect once you are connected to the telephone number you have dialled, i.e once the call has been answered or goes to a voicemail. If there is no answer or the line is engaged you will not be charged for the call.
So I request you all guys that please don't waste your money with powervoip.com
if I connect Phone to Phone^ connection fee 3,9 cent or 7,8 cent?
Honestly, if I know where the powervoip is right at this time of my writing this piece I would revenge.
I signed thinking it was a good deal.
I cross-checked the rates been charged and found incorrect billing..perhaps they thot users will not have the time to check
Very, Very wrong billing after they took connection fee of 0.039. am looking for a forum to attach the complete CDR for all to see and NEVER user powervoip.
fast voip is cheapest
Their customer service either sends you an automated response or no response at all.
I gave up on waiting for response and tried to buy credit. I have tried it for two days and many times but I did not receive a text message for SMS Verification.
These people gave me enough headache before I could make my first call. I will try to find another company. By the way, I am trying to call Germany.
I been using skype and powervoip for calling, but most often I use www.umuslim.com to connect and share with my family and friends. It's a family social network.
I will try now jumblo that looks cheaper.
