truroots.com Truroots Calling Card any good

Share

today we look at Truroots Tru1India Calling plan. Can Truroots compete with other cheap international call providers? If you are already using Truroots or plan to use, Read before you use them again.

Truroots international calling service is a VOIP based cheap international call service by Tata Communications, one of India's biggest telcos. However, most big telco companies are notorious for charging enormous rates to their customers. However, truroots seem to get it right this time around

Truroots recently anounced new plans with free credits but they are laughable. Let me show you their current calling plans to India and then let you decide.

Truroots offer a True1ndia Calling plan @ 1 c/min (Local Access) & 3 c/min (Toll Free). However, you need to buy a $9.99 per month plan which only gives you 600 minutes because there is a hidden subscription charge @ $3.99 per month. That means if you are using a Local access number to call any India number, you will get a effective call rate of $1.66 per minute which is very competitive. However, for toll free access its a whooping 5 cents per minutes which you should just avoid at all costs.

Compared to the horrible Reliance India Call, Truroots seem much better. I would really appreciate if the existing truroots can comment on their overall customer service and quality experience.

At this time Truroots look like a good competitive cheap international call service to India. Please let us know your feedback and comments about Truroots.

Tell me it is a joke! Why should I pay the whopping service charge when I can get almost the same rate at Nymgo without the highway robbery with excellent, proven service?

That's a joke! Nymgo charges 1.1 cent WITHOUT the ridiculous service charge!

Nymgo could be cheaper but i heard a lot of bad reviews on nymgo lately. I dont use them personally so i dont know their quality of service. However, whenever i tried contacting them regarding questions, they never bothered to respond, so i guess if they not serious about media questions they are probably least bothered about their customers.

Vinay,

I'm surprised no one has commented that the name of the company is Trueroots, with an 'e' - please correct the text and the hyperlinks.

Their service & quality was excellent and I used it for at least a year or more, back when calling rates to India were still around 5-6 cents/min. However, since then VOIP companies lowered their rates much faster and I stopped using Trueroots.

Another reason why I stopped using them was that their plans were too complicated - expiration dates, subscription fees, etc. so I do agree with you about that. However I'm not convinced that the fees are "hidden" - they advertise them on their web site, and the plans that don't charge subscription fees prominently display that they don't. So as long as you take time to read, there should be no surprises.
